Naveen wrote, “From this movie, I got some idea. I don’t have a child and we have been trying for the last ten years. But now I have changed my plan. Thank you.”

Starring Harish Kalyan and directed by Krishna Marimuthu, Dharala Prabhu is a remake of the Bollywood hit Vicky Donor which had Ayushmann Khurrana as the lead. Ever since its release on March 13,Dharala Prabhu, has received positive response from the audience.

Speaking to DT Next, actor Harish Kalyan said, “The movie opened to a good number of audience on its release and the crowd was good the next day too. However, ever since the COVID scare started the footfall, has drastically reduced and it is sad.”

Harish and his team were worried and wondered if the message of the film had reached the audience. “More than entertaining people, what mattered to us most was if our movie had created an impact,” said Harish. The actor then spoke about a news report which he had come across. “A couple had committed suicide as they didn’t have the ability to have a child,” he said. “There are several such cases of couple who go through emotional pain.”

It was during such time when the crew of Dharala Prabhu came across Naveen’s tweet. “It made us very happy,” the actor said.

As Dharala Prabhu talks on sperm donation and infertility, a topic that is still considered taboo in India, Harish is hopeful that the movie will offer a positive perspective. “I also hope that once the coronavirus scare subsides, people get a chance to watch our film,” Harish concluded.
