It’s a working birthday for Superstar Rajinikanth

Unlike his previous birthday, where he took time to meet his fans at his Poes Garden residence, the Baasha star decided to begin the shoot of his next film, Thalaivar 168, at Hyderabad. A video of Rajinikanth cutting the birthday cake with Siruthai Siva, Soori and D Imman made its way to the internet and went viral. Sources say that the star is planning to complete the film as soon as possible as he had made up his mind to enter the political arena in 2020. Despite the absence of the Rajinikanth in the city, fans celebrated his birthday like every other year. Theatres in the city, too, screened his 90’s blockbuster films and  maintained the vibes. Many celebrities in the industry took to their microblogging page to wish Superstar on his birthday.

Rajinikanth’s younger daughter Soundarya made an exciting announcement on the eve of her father’s birthday. She took to her social media page to reveal that the website of her production house is live and she is working on many interesting projects. Soundarya wrote, “On the eve of my darling appa's birthday, my team & I are happy to announce that #May6Entertainment website is LIVE! Exciting times ahead ! Interesting work under production http://www.may6entertainment.com.”(sic)

The makers of Rajinikanths 167th film Darbar on Thursday released a special poster to mark the superstar's 70th birthday. The poster features Rajinikanth walking majestically with a fiery look on his face. Darbar, which has been directed by A.R. Murugadoss, is slated to hit the screens during Pongal in January. The film marks his return to playing a police officer after 25 years.

Rajini’s ardent fan, choreographer-turned-actor Raghava Lawrence performed a special pooja for Superstar Rajinikanth on his birthday at Maruntheeswarar Temple, Thiruvanmiyur. Many fans of Rajinikanth also participated in the ritual.
