“I was in Wayanad recently, where I happened to meet the local tribe, who gave me an insight into their culture. That is when I heard that their style of folk is called Kambala Paatu. This inspired me to come up with Kuhuku. The song is directed by Shruti Namboodri and the music is composed by Sudeep Palanad,” she told DT Next.

Ramya said that she had this idea for quite some time in her mind. “I didn’t have a proper way to channelise the idea and was blank about how and where to begin. My trip to Wayanad was an eye-opener of sorts. From now, I would be making socially-relevant videos and educate people through my channel,” she added. Ramya also quickly added that her channel is not exclusive to Malayalam content alone. “I would be coming up with videos in Tamil for my fans and well-wishers in Tamil Nadu. Apart from that I would be making content in English too.”

Ramya Nambeesan’s Encore was launched by her best friend and actor Bhavana. “She was one of the first persons with whom I shared this idea and she generously came forward to do this for me out of friendship,” she replied. The singer-actor, who juggles between acting and singing across languages, is confident that she would be able to dedicate enough time for her new venture as well. “This is indeed a huge responsibility and I am sure that I will keep the channel alive with regular updates and unexplored themes,” Ramya explained. The actress, who awaits the release of Thamizharasan, has Sibi Sathyaraj’s Shiva and an untitled film with Rio Raj among others in the pipeline.
