No solution in sight for Gnanavel, STR Mufti issue

Two days after Gnanavel Raja issued a statement saying that he has no issues with Simbu and the remake of Mufti was very much on, contrary to his statement, the producer took Simbu’s absenteeism issue to the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council on Saturday. Simbu invited trouble yet again by not turning up for the shooting of the film. Though he is back in Chennai, the actor seems to be in no mood to shoot for the film. It is also worth noting that Gnanavel Raja had earlier filed a complaint against him with the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council last week, but wasn’t vocal about it.

Upon being called to appear before the council, Simbu went along with his mother Usha T Rajendar while ace director Bharathiraja heading the TFPC’s ad hoc committee negotiated the discussions between Gnanavel Raja and Simbu. One of the committee members told DT Next, “Sivasakthi Pandian, SVe Shekher and Sathyajyoti Thiyagarajan were also present. We did our best to resolve the issue. Going by the negotiations, it looks like the issue will not end anytime soon. We have asked both the parties to look for alternatives.”

However, Gnanavel is not ready to give up the film and Simbu too is not ready to return the money. Considering these, they will be appearing before the council for a second round of discussions beforethe ad hoc committee today. Based on that we will decide the outcome.” It looks like an actor will replace Simbu in the Mufti remake that also stars Gautham Karthik in lead role and Simbu might do another film for Studio Green without remuneration. We will have to wait and watch.
