Bala likely to team up with Suriya again
Director Bala, who was in talks with Atharvaa for a new project, is likely to join hands with Suriya as the latter was busy with his earlier committments.
Chennai
Director Bala had a huge fall-out with the producers of Varmaa, who decided to trash the content after watching the first copy and make the whole film again. Though he felt insulted, there were reports that the director had decided to move on to his next.
While speculation was rife that Bala was in talks with Atharvaa for his upcoming film, reliable sources said that, it will be Suriya who will be playing the lead in his next. A source close to the director, told DT Next, “Post the Varmaa controversy, Bala decided to make a new film with Atharvaa and release it on the same day as Dhruv’s debut film. However, due to date issues, Atharvaa couldn’t be part of the project.”
He adds, “Later, he met Suriya and narrated him the script. Impressed with the storyline, the actor agreed to sign the project and decided to shoot for the film from the first week of September. Other details regarding the cast and crew are yet to be finalised.” It is worth noting that Bala had earlier teamed up with Suriya for Pithamagan and Nandha, which went on to garner great response from the audience.
Meanwhile, Suriya is working on Sudha Kongora’s Soorai Pottru and also waiting for the release of Kaappan, which has Mohanlal in pivotal role.
