Flight disruptions trigger extra rush, SR to operate special trains in Chennai

CHENNAI: To handle the surge in passengers following flight disruptions, Southern Railway has announced several special trains from Chennai. These include the Secunderabad–Chennai Egmore Express Special (Train No. 07146) departing Secunderabad at 6.40 p.m. on Saturday and its return service (07147) leaving Chennai Egmore at 12.30 p.m. on Sunday. The Chennai Egmore–Charlapalli Express Special (06019) will leave at 11.55 p.m. on Saturday, with the return train (06020) departing Charlapalli at 6 p.m. on Sunday. On Sunday, Train No. 06255 KSR Bengaluru–Chennai Egmore and Train No. 06256 Chennai Egmore–KSR Bengaluru will operate, while on Monday Train No. 06257 KSR Bengaluru–Dr MGR Chennai Central and Train No. 06258 Dr MGR Chennai Central–KSR Bengaluru will run. Southern Railway said advance reservations for these special services will open shortly.
