Speaking about the film, Silambarasan said Arasan is not a small-scale project and will depict his character’s journey from his younger years to old age. “I will be portraying the character across different stages of his life, which requires me to appear in several different looks and get-ups,” he said.

The actor, who is working with music composer Anirudh on the film, added that Arasan would be a project that makes the Tamil film industry proud, drawing a comparison with the pan-Indian reception to the Hindi film Dhurandhar.

Addressing the release plans, Silambarasan said the team did not want to compromise on the film’s quality. "Many have been expecting Arasan to release for Pongal 2027. Unfortunately, the film will not be arriving as a Pongal release. We do not want to compromise on the quality of the film in any way."

He added that Arasan would make a strong impact and leave audiences proud of the film.

Instead of a Pongal release, the team will unveil an exclusive glimpse titled ‘The World of Arasan’ in theatres during the Diwali festive period.

Directed by Vetrimaaran, Arasan stars Silambarasan, Priyanka Mohan, Ameer, Samuthirakani, Kishore and Andrea, among others. Produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu under V Creations, the film is set in the filmmaker’s Vada Chennai universe and features new characters in a large-scale action entertainer.

The first 30 minutes quickly establish the main story, where GV Prakash is introduced as the boy-next-door and shows his shift from confusion to fear. Kayadu Lohar is a major highlight of the film, with a completely different look, looking stylish and delivering a good performance in both her friendly avatar and darker vampire side. The supporting actors, including TM Karthik, who plays one of the victims, do a good job. A few comedy scenes also bring some laughs.

On the negative side, the basic idea of this vampire fantasy mystery survival thriller is very small, so the story begins to feel stretched with unnecessary scenes. The first 45 minutes focus mostly on the romance between Mahi and Sindhu, which is flat, old-fashioned, and boring, until the actual horror story begins.

There are also a few logical flaws in the story. Right at the start, it makes no sense how Mahi gets to stay in a fancy luxury room for just five thousand rupees. Also, even though Sindhu controls everything, it is unclear why she never stops Mahi from talking to an earlier victim who had fallen into her trap. Instead, she just stands aside, watching events proceed until Mahi finds out the full truth. Because of this, the intrigue built up in the first half fades away in the second half.

Keeping almost all the scenes inside the same apartment makes the second half tedious to watch. Also, the fight scene between GV Prakash and the creature drags on needlessly. The final fight sequence is staged in a rushed manner, as if it was put together quickly just to end the movie, while the ending, too, although it has a surprise, fails to satisfy.

Technically, the visual effects by TOW VFX for the creature sequences are clean and realistic, while Sam CS’s background score complements key moments. Cinematographer Arun Radhakrishnan and editor Rajesh M keep the visuals sharp and the pacing steady. However, the loud music during character entrances feels grating; it would have been more scary if the audio was subtler.

Overall, Immortal is a somewhat decent watch as it attempts a new fantasy-horror concept inspired by shows like Wednesday. However, a good start, clean visual effects, and strong performances from the actors does not salvage its weak writing and slow second half.

Dan John (Dulquer Salmaan), the son of a wealthy businessman, is a hardcore gambler who is ready to bet on everything, from casinos to cricket and more. His obsession with winning big stems from his desire to prove to his father that he is not a loser. But when one of his bets goes horribly wrong, Dan meets with a life-changing car accident. Soon after, he discovers that he has gained a supernatural power. What follows next forms the crux of I'm Game.

The first half is filled with entertaining portions, such as the elaborately staged cricket betting episode where Dan confidently claims cricket is a predictable sport and that matches follow a pattern. He wins a few bets initially, but when he goes all in, things take a turn for the worse. The live-betting hall, with the match playing on a huge screen and bettors reacting to every moment, realistically captures the atmosphere and is relatable given the growing concerns surrounding cricket betting and betting apps.

The second half veers I'm Game in a completely different direction, turning it into a revenge drama. This eventually leads into a lengthy action sequence in the climax, set during the final of a cricket tournament, which is effectively staged. This portion showcases Nahas Hidhayath’s skill in handling action and Dulquer Salmaan’s commanding screen presence. Although the ending is a predictable one, the film manages to tie up the betting-related plot while leaving behind a message about how match-fixing and the betting industry continue to thrive on people’s greed.

Actors Antony Varghese (Pepe) and Mysskin deliver standout performances. Antony is great in his role as Vicky, a cricketer, especially in the scene where he gets picked by a cricket Premier League team for Rs 1.5 crore and his neighbourhood celebrates the achievement, while Mysskin’s dialogue delivery and knack for adding humour even to serious scenes are fun to watch.

Kayadu Lohar, who plays a physiotherapist named Isha, brings her usual charm to the role. Though her scenes with Dulquer are limited, their moments together are enjoyable. Kathir, who plays the team captain, feels more like an extended cameo but he does play an important part in the end. Samyuktha Vishwanathan, as Antony’s girlfriend, does well in the emotional scenes that become important to the story.

The action choreography by Anbariv gives both Dulquer and the film the necessary elevation at several points, boosting its energy and mood. Jimshi Khalid’s cinematography deserves credit for properly capturing everything from the neon-lit gambling arenas to the cricket matches and action portions. Jakes Bejoy’s lively score is another strength.

Although I'm Game leaves several characters and plot threads from the first half underdeveloped, it ultimately manages to deliver a satisfying ending. The film's message, well-executed action sequences, and strong performances help it overcome these shortcomings, making it a decent superhero action entertainer.

Directed by Elan, who also stars in the film opposite Megghana, the romantic comedy follows a woman who refuses to leave her parental home after her wedding, prompting her husband to move in with her family instead.

The film, which follows Elan's 2018 directorial debut "Pyaar Prema Kaadhal" but features a new cast and characters, premiered on Netflix on August 21.

"More than talking about what is right and what is wrong, we just wanted to explore... we wanted the audience, after watching the movie, to start a conversation. That was our main idea," Elan, whose character in the movie is also named Elan, told PTI in an interview.

"For any couple who wants to get married, they also should discuss where they will live before tying the knot. We all discuss other things, like financial stability, babies and all that but this particular point is always taken for granted," he added.

Megghana, who plays Pavithra, a social media influencer, said the film treats a potentially sensitive premise with humour rather than turning it into a message-driven social drama.

"He (Elan) doesn't make it a social issue, but treats it in a very humorous way," she said, adding that the idea of a woman asking her husband to move in with her family "should have been normalised long ago".

"Nowadays I think men and women have become extremely understanding because they recognise each other. I somehow feel it's more vocal right now. In Indian households, women are told to adjust and compromise, right? That doesn't happen at all nowadays because women also are very much financially independent, and things have changed. So I think this film happened because we all know that objectively people will relate to it," she added.

Elan, who also directed the 2024 hit "Star", said the story, written by Mumbai-based writer Nivedita Pohankar, was originally shared with him in casual conversation before he encouraged her to develop it into a script.

"The reason why I wanted to make this movie was to show the perspective of the women rather than showing what a man goes through. That's not the point of the movie. This is strictly a movie to advocate what women have been going through for centuries. So I resonated with the script very well, and I had no questions over it," he added.

Megghana said the film makes the case that homemaking is not tied to gender.

"Irrespective of the gender, anybody can be a homemaker. We made it like a housewife, but I felt it could be a house husband also. One should not be ashamed of being a house husband or working inside the house. I think we just have to break that conditioning."

"Pyaar Prema Kalyanam" marks Elan's acting debut and he credited his team, including "shadow director" Harish and cinematographer Ganesh, for allowing him to focus on his performance while directing.

"Everybody literally helped me out, so I'm very grateful for them. Before shooting, we made sure that everything was clear to everyone so that I didn't need to worry about my acting part on the floor. So they took care of it very well, and that made things easier for me," he said.

Elan said the praise from filmmaker Vetrimaaran for his acting was among the best responses he has received for the film.

"What else can I ask for? He's someone who believes that acting is so important. Getting a compliment from him is the best compliment I got for this movie," he said.

Megghana, whose earlier credits include "Pitta Kathalu" and "Kudumbasthan", said she continues to look for well-written roles and considers her craft a work in progress with each project.

"There's a lot to learn and I'm trying to be as open as possible because only when I'm open and receiving things can I learn and unlearn things and get better... I really want people to remember and always think that whichever film I'm part of or associated with, that film will definitely leave something with them, entertain them, or it will be a good film. That's exactly how I want to shape my career."

Director PS Mithran returns after the success of the 2022 prequel.

Available directly on the Netflix homepage and through search, the new hub features curated selections across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and other southern languages, organised around genres, moods and popular stars. The collection is aimed at making it easier for viewers to discover both familiar favourites and new stories.

The Southverse lineup includes theatrical successes such as Peddi, Blast, Amaran, Maharaja, Court: State vs A Nobody and Lucky Bhaskar. It also features Netflix Originals, including the recently premiered Pyaar Prema Kalyanam, Made in Korea and Super Subbu, Netflix’s first Telugu Original series.

Made in Korea also became the first title from southern India to reach the top spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English Films list. Upcoming titles such as the romantic-comedy series #Love and the much-awaited series Legacy are expected to further expand the collection.

The launch comes as Netflix continues to increase its focus on stories from southern India. The streaming platform had earlier announced that viewers can expect an average of one new title every week from the region for the rest of 2026, including major post-theatrical releases and Netflix Originals.

According to Netflix, the popularity of southern Indian content has also extended beyond its home markets. Since 2025, India’s Top 10 Films list has featured at least one film from the region every week. In 2025, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films appeared on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English Films list in 39 of 52 weeks, while titles from southern India reached Top 10 lists in 59 countries outside India.

Into The Southverse is now available to Netflix members in India on the homepage and via search.

The music for the film has been composed by Ilaiyaraaja.The makers are also set to present the film’s OST through a live musical concert ahead of its release.

Recalling how the music for the film came together, Karthik Subbaraj said Ilaiyaraaja immediately connected with the film after watching its first cut.

“When Ilaiyaraaja sir saw the first cut of the film, he said, “Let us begin work (on the music of the film) from tomorrow morning at 8 am.’”At that point itself, Raja sir had said, ‘Even before the release of this film, let us release the OSTs of the film as an album.’ He had left the decision to release the songs as we wished. However, he wanted the OSTs of the film to be released as an album,” the filmmaker said.

Subbaraj said he readily agreed to the idea and suggested releasing the album in vinyl format. The film features 18 OST tracks, while there are three songs in total. Two of the songs have already been released, with the final song set to be unveiled closer to the film’s release.

The vinyl edition of the Dorothy OST is scheduled to be launched on September 5.

Adding to the musical celebrations, the makers are also organising a special event titled the Dorothy Concert at Image Auditorium on September 5. According to Subbaraj, musicians will perform the film’s OSTs live and continuously for around 40 minutes.

Dorothy also stars Sananth and Rishikanth in prominent roles.The film is set in the 1990s and features cinematography by S Thirunavukkarasu and editing by Ganesh Siva. Dinesh Subbarayan has choreographed the stunts, while Sherif

M has handled the dance choreography. The film is scheduled to release worldwide on September 25.

The banner, known for backing blockbuster franchises such as "KGF" and "Kantara", announced on Instagram that it will distribute the film overseas through its international distribution arm Hombale Overseas.

"A story rooted in faith. A journey beyond borders. We, Hombale Films, are proud to take Hanuman Ansh to international audiences through Hombale Overseas," the production house said in its post.

"The spiritual journey of Maharaj-ji reaches the world, as Hanuman Ansh arrives worldwide on September 11, 2026," it added.

Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, "Hanuman Ansh" follows Dr Ram Bhosle, an Indian freedom fighter whose journey from an underground rebel to a yogi unfolds under the guidance of Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Maharaj-ji.

Inspired by the life and teachings of Maharaj-ji, the film explores themes of faith, service and inner transformation.

The film, which was released in Indian theatres on August 7, had a slow start at the box office, registering paltry collections in its first two weeks before gaining momentum through word-of-mouth.

The film has since picked up pace, earning Rs 72.97 crore in gross collections and Rs 61.88 crore nett at the box office, according to trade website Sacnilk.

Raaj Kamal Films International shared the glimpse on Thursday, with the cryptic caption “Dho Vaaren”, meaning “Here I come”, while tagging Kamal Haasan and S U Arun Kumar. The brief has already sparked curiosity over the nature of the project.

In the glimpse, Haasan is seen dressed in a black shirt and olive-green trousers, sporting an intense expression while holding a sickle.

The project marks the first collaboration between Kamal and Arun Kumar, whose filmography includes Pannaiyarum Padminiyum, Sethupathi, Sindhubaadh.

The announcement comes as Kamal continues to juggle several projects. He is currently associated with Kalki 2, in which he reprises his role as Supreme Yaskin.

For now, the makers have kept the title, supporting cast, plot and release plans under wraps. More details about the film are expected to be announced by Raaj Kamal Films International.

Giving out more details about a concert they intend to conduct, Karthik Subbaraj said, "We intend to hold a musical concert. It will be called the Dorothy concert. Musicians will play the OSTs of the film, non-stop for 40 minutes. The concert will be held at Image Auditorium on September 5."

For the unaware, 'Dorothy' will, apart from Keerthy Suresh, also feature actors Sananth and Rishikanth in the lead. The film, which has been written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, has music by Maestro Ilaiyaraaja.

The film, the story of which is set in the nineties, has cinematography by S Thirunavukkarasu and editing by Ganesh Siva. Stunts in the film have been choreographed by Dinesh Subbarayan while dances in the film have been choreographed by Sherif M. Costumes in the film have been designed by Praveen Raja.

The film, which is slated to hit screens worldwide on September 25 this year, is to have its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in the Centrepiece section.

Participating in a Thanks Giving meet organised by the makers of the film in the wake of the film going on to emerge a superhit, Radhika Sarathkumar said, "I want to congratulate the whole team. My greetings to everyone. These days, it's very tough for a film to succeed. It's a different market. Many people will come, claiming to know a lot many things. They will eventually escape, saying, 'They don't know'. But you, knowingly and unknowingly, arrived and have won. My wishes to you for that."

She then went on to say, "I have to say one thing. I haven't seen the film yet. I don't have the courage to see it. Poornima (the wife of late actor, director and screenplay writer Bhagyaraj) called me yesterday. She had watched the film and was emotionally moved."

Although she hadn't watched the film, Radhika went on to say that she remembered working with Bhagyaraj sir on the film. "But I remember Bhagyaraj sir. This is the last film I acted with him. We were very, very happy on the set. It was so much fun," she said.

The actress recalled a conversation with Bhagyaraj on the sets of the film on the occasion. She said, "In this movie, I want to say one thing about Bhagyaraj. When we were shooting, he would be sitting in the set and the director would be smiling and directing. When a shot was fixed, he'd turn to me and say, 'Pulla (Radhika disclosed that Bhagyaraj used to address her by that name) in this film, wouldn't it be nice to have a shot like this?'"

Radhika further said, "He would speak to me in Telugu. He used to give such wonderful suggestions. I think as a screenplay writer, director or actor, he will be missed."

The actress, while concluding her speech, urged everyone to watch the film and said that she would watch it too.

For the unaware, 'Hi', which was cleared by the Censor Board for release with a U/A certificate, hit the screens on August 28 this year.

The film, which has been jointly produced by Zee Studios South, The Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studios, also features a host of actors including Prabhu, Sathyan, Adithya Kathir and Kureishi among others.

Vishnu Edavan, who is making his debut as a director with this film, had earlier worked as an associate director to ace director Lokesh Kanagaraj in several of his projects including 'Kaithi', 'Master' and 'Vikram'.

Expectations from the film were high as this was the first time that actors Nayanthara and Kavin were acting together.

The film, which boasts of a strong technical team, has music by Jen Martin and cinematography by Rajesh Shukla. Editing for the film was by the capable Philomin Raj and art direction was by Shekhar B. Dances in the film have been choreographed by Brinda while stunts have been choreographed by Dinesh Kasi.

Actor Karunaas and Nimisha Sajayan are in the lead roles, with music by Sam CS.

The film’s first single, Kadaladum, has already been released through GV Prakash Kumar’s official music platform. The song features vocals by Antony Daasan.

What makes ‘Enna Vilai’ special?

Enna Vilai has received recognition at various international film festivals. The film won the Best Feature Film honour at the Mannheim Arts and Film Festival in Germany and the Best Screenplay award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival.

It was also officially selected for the Kaia International Film Festival in Istanbul and the Atlanta Indian Film Festival in the US.

The film is produced by Githesh Viswambharan and Anugopal Venugopalan under the banner of Kalamaya Cineverse.

The film is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release in September 2026.

Talking about acting, Varun’s latest release was Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, a romantic comedy film directed by David Dhawan. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, alongside Maniesh Paul, Chunky Panday, Jimmy Sheirgill and Mouni Roy in the supporting roles. The film is intended to be David Dhawan's final directorial film.

The film followsJass and Bani, who end their marriage over family planning. Jass begins a new romance abroad, only to become entangled in unexpected secrets and complicated relationships.

He was also seen in the movie Border 2. The film released on January 23.

“Border 2”, which, as per Varun Dhawan, is based on the 1971 war and some true events, is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in association with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films. Backed by a powerful production team including Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and directed by Anurag Singh.

Meanwhile, J.P. Dutta’s blockbuster “Border’ was released in 1997. The film stars an ensemble cast that includes Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in pivotal roles, alongside Tabu, Pooja Bhatt, Rakhee Gulzar, Sharbani Mukherjee, Sapna Bedi, and Rajiv Goswami.

Varun starred in 11 consecutive box-office successes between 2012 and 2018. He began his career as an assistant director to Karan Johar in My Name Is Khan and subsequently made his acting debut in 2012 with Johar's teen drama Student of the Year.

The film was originally slated for an Onam release on August 20 but was later postponed to September 3. However, the much-awaited release has once again faced a delay, with shows in languages other than Malayalam yet to begin.

Sources close to the industry say the delay is reportedly due to the late delivery of the DCP (Digital Cinema Package) for the respective language versions. While morning shows have commenced in Malayalam, there is still no official confirmation on when the Tamil version will be made available in theatres.

Adding to the uncertainty, online ticket booking platforms have opened bookings for the Malayalam version from September 3, while bookings for the Tamil version are currently listed only from September 4. This has further fuelled uncertainty over the Tamil release, with audiences awaiting an official confirmation from the makers.

I’m Game features Dulquer Salmaan alongside Kathir, Samyuktha Vishwanathan and Antony Varghese, and was promoted as a pan-Indian release with versions planned in five languages.

The actress revealed that she gained nearly 14 kg for the character and described the experience of eating her way up to 8,000 calories a day as an “absolute nightmare”.

Nimisha, who plays Assistant Sub-Inspector Babita Singh in the Ambiecka Pandit directorial, in an exclusive conversation with IANS, told she weighed 58 kg when she was selected for the role.

She then began working with a team of professionals to gain weight specifically for the character, eventually reaching 72 kg.

Speaking about the transformation, Nimisha revealed, “Yes, I gained like almost 14 kgs for the character. I was 58 when I got selected, then we started working on the weight gain journey, so we had this set of professionals, Dr. Siddhant Karan and Chef Saif Dada. So first it started with 1,200 calories and it went up to like 8,000 calories.”

Ask her about the experience of consuming such a large amount of food, and the actress did not mince her words.

“It was a nightmare, it was an absolute nightmare for me. 8,000 calories is a lot. 8,000 calories is like a lot of food, you know, I was literally stuffing food, but I enjoyed the process, you know, because it got me more closer to the character, maybe, so I had fun,” she said.

The physical transformation was central to Nimisha's portrayal of Babita, an underconfident police officer who is largely dismissed at work and constantly finds herself adjusting to the expectations of people around her.

Nimisha also added that she immediately got to losing all the weight after the fruit of Babita reporting concluded.

"I got back to my 1000 calories per day and worked out hard," said Nimisha.

In a conversation with IANS, Nimisha had earlier also opened up about being judged for her looks and said she has reached a stage where such remarks no longer affect her in the same way.

“I too have been judged on the way I look many times. But it doesn't affect me,” she said.

Drawing a parallel between herself and Babita, Nimisha said there comes a point when repeated disrespect pushes a person to react.

“You take it but there's a point of disrespect, and after a point, you start reacting,” she said, adding that this is also reflected in Babita's journey.

Starring actor Ameer in the lead role, the film is written and directed by S B Aravinth, a former associate director of Mari Selvaraj. Maakaali will explore an important social issue through a story rooted in the pain and limitations of human life, according to the makers.

The film is jointly produced by K Karunamoorthy under the banner of Ayngaran International, and Divya Mari Selvaraj and Mari Selvaraj under the banner of Nawi Studios.

The recently unveiled first-look poster features Ameer walking alone inside the gigantic skeleton of an animal, while the second poster features the title Maakaali amidst scattered animal skeletons.

The film features Ameer, Swasika, Anishma Anilkumar, Hariharan, Ashwin Ram and Lenin Bharathi in prominent roles.

Selvarathinam Pradheepan is handling the cinematography, while Selva RK is in charge of editing and Justin Prabhakaran has scored the music. Ramu Thangaraj is the art director, while Dileep Subbarayan handles the stunt choreography and Varshini Shankar is the costume designer.

Suren G and Azhagiya Koothan are handling the sound design, Kapilan is handling the publicity design, Jayakumar Vairavan is the still photographer and Nagendran is the makeup artist. Venkat Arumugam serves as the executive producer, while Sathish (AIM) is the public relations officer.

The sequel marks the reunion of Rajinikanth and Nelson following the success of the 2023 blockbuster Jailer. The film was officially announced in January 2025 and went on floors two months later, with shooting wrapping up in April this year. The makers recently released the first single, Ala Bolelo, composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Produced by Sun Pictures and presented by Kalanithi Maran, Jailer 2 brings back several actors from the first film, including Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Yogi Babu.

Adding to the buzz around the cast is Hrithik Roshan, who is reportedly making a special appearance in the film. Reports suggest that the Bollywood star has already completed a two-day schedule in Chennai, during which he filmed scenes with Rajinikanth. If confirmed, the appearance will reunite the two actors nearly four decades after they shared screen space in Bhagwaan Dada (1986), when Hrithik appeared as a child actor.

Interestingly, Jailer 2 is scheduled to release a day before Dhanush’s Om: Chapter 1, which is slated for October 16. Both films are positioned to benefit from the Navaratri pooja holiday period.

Directed by Manoj NS, founder and CEO of Behindwoods, Moonwalk is positioned as a Tamil family entertainer blending comedy, music and dance.

It stars Prabhu Deva in the lead, alongside Yogi Babu, Aju Varghese, Arjun Ashokan, Satz, Nishma, Sushmitha, Redin Kingsley, Mottai Rajendran, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, Dr Santhosh Jacob, Deepa Shankar and Ramkumar Natarajan.

Rahman will also make his acting debut with a cameo in the film, while Yogi Babu is set to appear in 16 different roles.

Speaking about the announcement, Manoj NS said the film was created as a celebration of happiness, laughter, music and dance for the festive season.

“Diwali is a festival that brings families together, and we want Moonwalk to do the same," he added.

The film’s soundtrack by AR Rahman has three released tracks — Yethu, Tinga and Macarena. The fourth song, Mayile, featuring AR Rahman and Prabhudeva, will be released soon.

Moonwalk features cinematography by Anoop V Shylaja, choreography by Sekhar VJ and Piyush Shazia, production design by Shanoo, and costume design by Divya George and Swetha Raju.

Romeo Pictures has acquired the worldwide distribution rights, while Lahari has acquired the music rights.

The film has gone on floors, with principal photography currently under way in London.

For Menon, the film marks his first Tamil outing, his first psychological horror and his first story centred entirely around women. He is known for films such as Airlift, Chef and Pippa. “Someone once quite aptly called me ‘genre agnostic’, and this film is another exploration in that journey,” Menon said.

Presented by Panorama Studios, in association with Locomotive Global, the film is a Fusion Flicks & Locomotive Global Production. Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Sunder Aaron, Vikas Sharma and Amit Dalmia are producing the project, while Rajesh Menon and George Cameron are the co-producers. Abhinav Mehrotra serves as the creative producer.

Kumar Mangat Pathak, Founder & Chairman, Panorama Studios, said, “Tamil cinema has always been a space for bold, original and culturally rooted storytelling, and we wanted our first Tamil production to reflect exactly that spirit. This is a genre film with a very intriguing world at its core, and Raja has brought a distinctive vision to it."

As Panorama Studios expands its presence across South India, its slate includes Malayalam films such as Anomie, Unmadham and Tiki Taka. Production No 4 and Munpe, both starring Tovino Thomas, are currently on the floors.

I’m Game follows a fearless gambler who trusts luck more than life and gets caught in a series of unexpected events that turn his world upside down. The film is set to release in five languages — Malayalam, the original language, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.

Dulquer said the film is almost like a Tamil film, given the number of Tamil actors in the cast. Calling it one of Wayfarer Films’ biggest productions, he said the team had chosen not to reveal too much about the story.

“There’s a genre shift in this movie. We are not revealing anything because the audience should get that experience for the first time on the big screen,” he said, drawing a parallel with his earlier film Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, which also surprised audiences with a change in genre.

Dulquer praised Kathir, calling him a “born talent”, and said Mysskin has a significant role in the film. Calling Mysskin his “guru”, he added that the actor-director brought a different kind of energy to the set.

Kathir, who plays a cricketer, said this was his first time promoting a pan-Indian film set in the Malayalam film industry. He revealed that he had not played much cricket before the film and underwent nearly six hours of training every day.

“I must appreciate director Nahas Hidhayath’s guts for making me the captain of the team,” he said, while thanking his trainer Sadham. Speaking about Dulquer, Kathir added, “Doing things differently and experimenting is DQ’s job.”

Samyuktha Viswanathan said she felt “blessed and grateful” to be part of the film. She recalled being touched by Nahas’ narration and thanked both the director and Dulquer for believing in her. The actor, who plays a Tamil girl, also praised stunt choreographers Anbariv for the experience of working with them.

For Antony Varghese, popularly known as Pepe, this was his first film promotion in Chennai. “I’m new here, I need all your support,” he told the audience, while speaking in Tamil.

Calling Nahas his best friend, he shared a humorous anecdote about the director’s feedback, which left the audience laughing. Antony praised Dulquer as a producer, actor and, above all, “a very good person”.

He also said he is a big fan of CM Vijay, recalled missing the opportunity to play Arjun Das’ role in Master, and expressed his desire to work with big stars like Ajith, Suriya and Rajinikanth.

The event ended with Dulquer delivering a dialogue from the film in both Tamil and Malayalam before singing “Mental Manathil” from OK Kanmani. The cast then joined him on stage and danced to “Loser” from the film.

I’m Game features Dulquer Salmaan, Kayadu Lohar, Kathir, Antony Varghese, Samyuktha Viswanathan, Mysskin and others. Directed by Nahas Hidhayath, the film is set to hit the screens on September 3.

The actress, in an exclusive conversation with IANS, said she received messages from men who told her that they had started doing their own household chores after watching the film.

Speaking about the response to the 2021 Malayalam film, Nimisha said she received messages from men telling her that they had begun washing their own tiffin boxes before heading home.

“I think in today's society, women are independent, strong, they keep taking care of themselves. So I think after the release of Great Indian Kitchen, I got many messages from men saying that ‘listen, now we wash our tiffin after going home’, you know, because after the film, you know, I can see that shift,” Nimisha said.

The actress stressed that the film was never simply about portraying women as victims, but was instead intended to make audiences question the way women are treated and how their efforts are often taken for granted.

“It's not about bechari women, it was more about the way men treat women, how you take things for granted,” she added.

Nimisha was speaking about the film's impact when she was asked if she had watched its Hindi remake, Mrs, which starred Sanya Malhotra in the lead. The actress said she had not had the opportunity to watch it.

The Great Indian Kitchen was released directly on OTT in January 2021 and starred Nimisha alongside Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film revolved around an educated woman who enters an arranged marriage and gradually finds herself trapped in a deeply patriarchal household, where domestic chores, cooking and serving the men are treated as her unquestioned responsibilities.

Nimisha has now moved into another woman-centric story with Babita Singh Reporting, which premiered on August 28.

The film follows Babita, an underestimated police officer who becomes involved in investigating the murder of her childhood friend while simultaneously dealing with complications in her personal and marital life.

Participating in the pre-release event of 'I'm Game' in Chennai, Dulquer Salmaan said, "Kathir bro, I'm such a fan. What do you say, a born talent you are!."

He turned to the audience and said, "Every time he (Kathir) performs, I find it so subtle and so intense. It doesn't look like he puts any effort. It looks so effortless."

Kathir, who plays a cricketer in the film, had earlier lamented that he hadn't played proper cricket ever before and that the director had showed immense courage by trusting him to play the captain of a cricket team in the film.

Recalling his statement, Dulquer said, "You might think your cricket is not good, but you're phenomenal in the film. You're absolutely convincing as our captain."

For the unaware, Kathir, during the course of his speech at the event, had, in a lighter vein remarked that he was retiring from cricket after this film.

When the anchor asked why he was saying so and why his co-actors, who were seated in the audience were laughing, Kathir explained with a laugh,"This is like a legacy. I cannot play any better than what I have in this film."

He further explained with a smile,"After director Nahas had narrated this script to me, I thought to myself, 'Goodness gracious!'. I told Nahas, 'I would have played cricket a maximum of four times in my entire life and that too, whatever cricket I played was in school. Even more significantly, it was pad cricket.'"

Kathir disclosed that he had asked Nahas if he was okay making someone like him play a cricket team captain in the film. Kathir laughingly added, "A director can have courage and take risks but not to this extent."

Meanwhile, the censor board has cleared the film for release with a UA 16+ certificate.

Wayfarer Films, the production house producing the film, took to its social media timelines to share the update.

It wrote, "No more waiting around—the dice have rolled! I'M GAME has bagged its U/A 16+ certificate and is officially theater-bound. Bookings open at 5 PM."

For the unaware, the film was originally scheduled to hit screens worldwide on August 20 this year. However, the makers chose to postpone the film's release to September 3.

In a statement announcing the postponement of the film's release date, Dulquer Salmaan had acknowledged the anticipation around the film and stated that the decision to opt for a new release date came with a larger vision for the film.

He had said, "The game gets bigger. The release gets wider. We understand the anticipation and we apologize for the delay, but #imgame will now release worldwide on 3rd September, moving from its earlier release date of 20th August."

The actor went on to say, "The new release date comes with a larger vision for the film as #imgame gears up for a wider theatrical release across markets. The film will now simultaneously release in multiple languages-Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada taking the experience to audiences across the country and beyond."

He had ended the statement saying, "This decision has been made to give #imgame the scale, reach, and theatrical platform it truly deserves, allowing audiences across different markets to experience it on the big screen. The wait gets a little longer, But the game gets bigger!"

Directed by Nahas Hidhayath, 'I'm Game' has been mounted on an ambitious scale and will mark Dulquer Salmaan’s return to Malayalam cinema. The film completed an extensive 11-month shooting schedule spanning 156 days, with filming taking place across more than 100 locations in South India.

The film features an ensemble cast including Antony Varghese, Mysskin, Kayadu Lohar, Kathir, Parth Tiwari and Samyuktha Viswanathan. Jakes Bejoy has composed the music, while the action sequences have been choreographed by Anbariv Masters. The film has been produced by Dulquer Salmaan and Jom Varghese under Wayfarer Films.

Jung Kook shared a fun food moment with Jimmy Fallon as the two sat down to enjoy New York City pizza. During their conversation, Jung Kook revealed that he isn’t a fan of leftover or cold pizza before Fallon introduced him to a slice of New York’s pizza.

Talking about Jung Kook, he rose to prominence as a member of South Korean boy band BTS. He has performed three solo songs as part of BTS' discography, "Begin" in 2016, "Euphoria" in 2018, and "My Time" in 2020. He also recorded the soundtrack song "Stay Alive" for the BTS-based webtoon 7Fates: Chakho.

In 2022, Jung Kook featured on American singer Charlie Puth's single "Left and Right", which peaked at number 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

In 2023, Jung Kook released his debut solo single "Seven" featuring Latto, which broke numerous chart and streaming records. His follow-up single "3D", featuring Jack Harlow, debuted at number five on both the Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart, making Jung Kook the first South Korean solo artist to achieve two consecutive top-five entries on the latter.

Directed by debutant Rawindra Pulle and produced by Unformula Films, the film features Rashmika as a Gond tribal woman. The release date poster shows her holding a large spear, with battle wounds on her face. A crowd and flames form the backdrop, while traditional clothing and weapons give the film a period-action setting.

The makers said Mysaa is being mounted on a large scale, with action sequences designed to create an adrenaline-driven experience. International stunt specialist Andy Long and stunt choreographer Kecha Khamphakdee are associated with the film's action sequences.

Rashmika recently sustained an injury while filming a demanding action sequence, according to the press release. She is recovering and is expected to return to the sets soon to complete the final schedule. The makers said 12 days of shooting remain. Post-production work, including VFX and the original score, is under way.

The actor has undergone physical training and worked on the character to bring authenticity to her performance, they added.

The film also stars Eshwari Rao, Guru Somasundaram, Rahul Ravindran, Samuthirakani, Rao Ramesh, Tarak Ponnappa and Nidhi Singh.

Shreyaas P Krishna is the cinematographer and Jakes Bejoy is the music composer. GM Shekar is the production designer, while Ayesha Mariam has designed the costumes.

Mysaa will release simultaneously in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

The glimpse video released begins with government authorities getting a tip off about gold being smuggled into Coimbatore. But then, the magnitude of the whole operation is so huge that even authorities feel that a crime of this proportion is not possible. We hear an officer saying, "Is this cinema for them to smuggle gold in lorries from one state to another?"

Even as gold prices continue to soar consistently, we hear one of the smugglers saying, "There is nothing that is impossible here."

The glimpse video shows that there is a market for gold and the one calling the shots in this market is a person who is intent on acquiring respect. "All those hands here have to salute us in respect," we hear him saying.

Meanwhile, Vikram Prabhu's character is seen working in this market of gold. The glimpse video also features several grim action scenes.

At one point, we hear Vikram Prabhu say, "Can you believe it if we told you that the one gram of gold that you hold in your hand would have claimed at least a minimum of one person's life before reaching your hand? That is gold. That is what this world is. And that is what this film's story is all about."

Shooting for the film is currently on at a brisk pace. It may be recalled that shooting for the film began in June this year.

Along with Vikram Prabhu, the film will also feature producer Raahul and actresses Shivathmika Rajashekhar, Amala Shaji in pivotal roles.

On the technical front, music for the film will be by Yuvan Shankar Raja while cinematography will be by Karthick Sharaj. Editing for the film will be by Arul Moses A and art direction will be by Hari Haran PS. Stunts in the film have been choreographed by Dinesh Kasi.

The conversation kicked off when contestant Padmini asked Amitabh Bachchan whether has he ever made tea for his wife Mrs. Jaya Bachchan.

To this, Big B candidly admitted he has never made tea for his wife and explained his unfamiliarity with the process of making tea. Ne said, "Deviji dekhiye joh insaan chai nahi peeta hain voh kaise banayega aur humne aksar dekha hain ki patiniji chai itna nahi peeti hain, peeti hain lekin kitna peeti hain hume nahi pata aur joh bhi peeti hain voh hum banake nahi dete aur hume nahi aata chai banana. With Vishwanath and Sons and Irumudi crossing the Rs 100-crore mark, along with the National Award, the composer-actor has plenty to celebrate.

He is now looking forward to Immortal, a vampire film that he calls his experiment with a new genre in Tamil cinema.

Speaking about balancing his commitments as an actor and music composer, Prakash says planning helps him stay on track.

“I plan properly for the next 60 days. If you ask me what I am going to do next month, I can tell you exactly what I will be doing,” he says.

The National Award has a deeper emotional significance for him. Referring to AR Rahman’s observation that the honour marks the family’s 10th National Award, Prakash says the achievement fulfils a long-standing dream.

“This was my grandfather’s wish and ambition. Unfortunately, he passed away due to cancer. My uncle has achieved a lot, and I am happy that I have been able to achieve this in the same lineage,” he says.

With Immortal, GV Prakash is entering an unfamiliar territory. “It is my experiment in a new genre a vampire film and the first of its kind in Tamil cinema,” he says.

The film was completed before the release of the Malayalam film Lokah, but its extensive computer-generated imagery work delayed its release.

Describing Immortal as a fantasy, mystery and survival thriller, he says the film revolves around a man who has lived for 4,000 years. The story moves across prehistoric times, tribal life and the present, with a major flashback forming part of the narrative. “It is an interesting film which will excite everyone,” he says.

The film also features Kayadu Lohar, who has become a familiar name among Tamil audiences. Prakash reveals that the film will offer audiences a different version of the actor.

“We were halfway through the shooting when Kayadu signed Dragon. So you will see a fresh and different Kayadu in this film,” he shares.

On working with composer Sam CS, he says he gave only minimal input, mainly suggesting where the film needed stronger scare moments.

GV Prakash has also managed to work across films of different scales, from smaller projects to big-star productions.

He credits legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja for inspiring this approach.

“Whether it is a small hero or a big star, or whatever kind of film it is, Ilaiyaraaja sir was the same with everyone. He treated every film equally. MSV sir was also like that. I grew up watching them, so I follow the same approach,” he says, adding that he tries to give his best whether the film is Kaaka Muttai, Visaranai or a commercial film like Youth.

GV Prakash is also continuing to explore acting. His upcoming Mental Manathil, directed by Selvaraghavan, is 80 per cent complete, with a seven-day Chennai schedule remaining.

He describes the film as a love story with an unusual combination of influences “like a product of what happens when Imtiaz Ali meets Yaaradi Nee Mohini.”

His association with Telugu cinema is also expanding. He points to Lucky Baskhar and Irumudi as significant successes and says he has several Telugu projects lined up, including two with Dulquer Salmaan and one with Anil Ravipudi.

Reflecting on Kingston, his previous experiment with the pirate genre, Prakash admits that the dialogue and screenplay did not work despite the strength of the concept. “In Immortal, we have worked well on the dialogue and screenplay,” he says.

On the growing use of artificial intelligence in filmmaking and music, Prakash believes it should remain a tool rather than a replacement for human creativity. He admits to using AI during the process of creating music, particularly to demonstrate a female vocal scratch to a producer, but says he would not use an AI-generated voice as the final product.

GV Prakash also says he continues to speak up on social issues, including recent honour killings, but prefers to do so without political backing. “I still voice out when injustice happens. But when political parties take ownership of certain incidents, it does not work for me,” he says.

For now, his focus is on Immortal, a film that he believes will offer audiences something unfamiliar. “We spent a year working on the creature. It is a survival thriller with some romance, and it will give audiences a new visual and a new experience,” he concludes.

In a chat with DT Next, she talks about dancing with Rajinikanth and balancing motherhood.

The Tamil trailer of the film has been released and is already drawing attention. The Tamil version of the film is set to hit theatres on September 4.

Following the successful Tamil Nadu release of Suriya-starrer Vishwanath and Sons, Primark Productions is set to bring another Malayalam hit, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, to Tamil audiences.

Directed by Girish AD, the film explores an unconventional relationship between a middle-aged man and a young college-going woman.

The trailer hints at the attraction between the two and the emotional complications arising from their age difference, while also touching upon society’s perception of their relationship.

Blending romance, humour and emotions, the film takes a different approach to the conventional love story.

Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju play the lead roles, with Sangeeth Prathap, Vinay Forrt, Roshan Shanavas, Srindaa, Meenakshi Raveendran and Bindu Panicker among the supporting cast.

Girish AD has co-written the story with Kiran Josy. Dileesh Pothan, Fahadh Faasil and Syam Pushkaran have produced the film under Bhavana Studios.

Vishnu Vijay has composed the music, while Ajmal Sabu and Akash Joseph Varghese have handled the cinematography and editing, respectively.

Leo Vision Productions, one of the production houses backing the film, took to its social media platforms to make the announcement.

Interestingly, Nithya Menen is also jointly producing the film. She is co-producing it through her banner, Keyuri Productions, along with Leo Vision, headed by producer V S Rajkumar.

It may be recalled that Nithya Menen announced the launch of her production house, Keyuri Productions, in February this year.

Taking to Instagram to post a video introducing her production house, Keyuri, the actress had said: “Making films, for me, was always more than just telling stories. It was about being able to reach actual people at such a deep level. A place deeper than intellect. A place above thought. Above reason. To stir a transformation — both within me, when I am absorbed in the creative process, and within the other who watches. To create shifts that ripple quietly. Changed in ways we cannot fully name. Imperceptibly at first, but irreversibly.”

Acclaimed filmmaker Vikram K Kumar has also been roped in as the creative producer for the film.

The film has cinematography by A Sakthivel and editing by Richard Kevin. The film is set to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, making it a pan-Indian theatrical release.

Taking to its social media timelines, Lark Studios, the production house producing the film wrote, "Every frame holds a feeling. Every moment carries a memory. #Thagappan Shooting Wrapped! The emotions begin soon in theatres. In Cinemas December 2026."

The makers also shared a video on the occasion with the entire unit screaming, "It's a wrap!."

Sources say that the film, which is set against a Madurai backdrop, will revolve around the bond between a dad and his son. It will look to highlight the significance of family relationships and human values, they added.

For the unaware, the film, which is being produced by K Kumar, is slated to hit screens in December this year.

Recently, the makers had released the first look of the film, much to the delight of fans and film buffs. Lark Studios took to its social media timelines to share the first look poster of the film.

It wrote, "Everything is fair in a father’s love. Presenting the world #Thagappan !In Cinemas December 2026."

The unit has completed the shooting of the film in one go. Sources had, on an earlier occasion, said that several onlookers, who recently witnessed the canning of some crucial scenes, were moved by what they saw and went up to congratulate the unit.

Rajisha Vijayan plays the female lead in this film, which will have music by Marshall Robinson. The film has cinematography by M Sukumar and editing by the very gifted Nagooran Ramachandran.

Art direction for the film is being handled by K B Nandhabalan while stunts in the film have been choreographed by Mahesh Mathew. Rithesh Selvaraj has designed the costumes in this film, which P Balakumar serving as its executive producer.

At the heart of the promo is a playful celebration of the 4 regional markets and their cultures.The promos shows the hosts finding themselves in a mix-up involving food from one another’s states, adding a fun twist to the narrative.

The humour, observations, interventions and weekend conversations of the hosts are among the most anticipated parts of every season, often driving conversations well beyond the house.

‘Bigg Boss’ Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam are set to air simultaneously on September 6 on JioStar television channels and JioHotstar.

The actor, who participated in the pre-release event of director Venu Gopal Reddy's romantic drama 'Romanchakam', which is being presented by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Vijay Deverakonda said, "I can't express the love I have for Sandeep in words. It's not just a director-actor relationship. It's not just a brother relationship or a friend relationship. It's something else."

Recalling the difficulties they faced during the making of the blockbuster film 'Arjun Reddy', Vijay Deverakonda went on to say, "Back then, we went to war together. We didn't know what we were doing. Had the film not worked out, we would have gone crazy. Both of us didn't have money. We did not have influence. We didn't have any pull. There were no fans at that time because Pellichoopulu hadn't released then."

"I miss Sandeep Reddy not for Arjun Reddy's success or what it has gone on to become. I miss him for all the moments we spent together -- building a film together, sharing our lives, our stress and sharing our battles. Pranay and Prabhakar uncle mortgaged their lands to get money to make that film. They made that film showing faith in Sandeep and he in turn, had faith in me. He also got them to believe in me and made that film," he recalled and pointed out that the stakes were really high for that film.

"You put your entire family, earnings and future on film. Sandeep will go to any extent for me and I will go to any extent for Sandeep," he said, revealing the deep bond of trust and affection he shared with the ace director.

For the unaware, Romanchakam, which has triggered huge expectations, is slated to hit screens worldwide on September 3 this year.

Excitement about the film shot up after the makers chose to release a glimpse video of the film a couple of weeks ago.

The glimpse video begins with Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar's characters in the film being madly in love with each other. Just when you begin to think that the couple is made for each other, the second half of the glimpse shows both characters beginning to hate each other. Adding to the excitement and intrigue is the character played by actor Upendra Limaye in the film. The glimpse gives the impression that the actor plays a cop in the film.

Apart from Sumanth Prabhas, Ananthika Sanilkumar and Upendra Limaye, the film will also feature actors Venkatesh Kakumanu, Narendra Ravi, Mani Aegurla and Sai Sohan among others.

Produced by Pranay Reddy Vanga, the film has cinematography by Pavan Pappula and music by Vasuki Vaibhav. Gobind Kotap has choreographed the dances in the film, which has costumes by Akunur Keerthana.

Talking to mediapersons, G V Prakash, who only recently won his third National Award for music direction, said, "Immortal is a relatively new genre for Tamil cinema. It's a vampire film. It hasn't been explored much in Tamil cinema. It's a fantasy mystery survival thriller."

Going on to give details of the film, in which Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead, G V Prakash said, "We waited for a year for CG alone. The producer told us that we would shoot for a year and that we would wait for a year for CG. Only then would this film be released."

He went on to add, "We finished shooting before Lokah was released." The actor said that the decision to take a year's time for the film's CG was to ensure that it was of international standard.

The film's CG works are being handled by top CG firms in Canada, which have been working on the film for a year now.

Going on to explain why they named the film 'Immortal', G V Prakash said, "I initially wanted the film to be called 'Saaga Varam' but we later changed it to 'Immortal'. In this film, there's a portion that tells the story of a man who lives for 4000 years. It will go to a prehistoric time."

The film has already been cleared for release by the Censor Board with a clean 'U' certificate.

G V Prakash took to his X timeline to share the update. Sharing a poster that announced that the film had been certified U, the actor wrote, "#Immortal from September 4."

It may be recalled that the makers of the film had announced in May this year that shooting for the film had been wrapped up.

The film has been eagerly awaited ever since the makers released a chilling and entertaining teaser of the film last year.

The teaser begins on a funny romantic note. It has G V Prakash, who is a die hard romantic, having a conversation with a friend. He says, "Imagine how it would be if a handsome guy like me and a very beautiful girl stayed in the same house." The friend replies, "It would be jealousy-inducing." To this, G V Prakash gleefully says, "It must."

The teaser then shows G V Prakash having a conversation with actress Kayadu Lohar in a flat that looks exactly like the one he was seen talking about a while ago to his friend.

"If I ask you something, will you mistake me," he asks her and she shoots back, saying, "You will anyway ask something that is wrong."

The teaser makes it evident that G V Prakash's character in the film is romantically interested in the character that Kayadu Lohar plays. He tells her, "My room has a lot of mosquito problems" to which she replies, "Mine has problems caused by bats. Is it alright?"

It is then that the horror phase starts. He wakes up in the middle of the night and looks through the keyhole, only to find a beast with the face of a bat!

The film, apart from G V Prakash Kumar and Kayadu Lohar, also features a host of actors including TM Karthik, Kumar Natarajan, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Aaditya Kathir, Arshu Maharjan, Pema Tsamchoe and Sunita Shrestha.

On the technical front, the film, which has been produced by Arunkumar Dhanasekaran, has cinematography by Arun Radhakrishnan and music by Sam CS. Editing for the film is by San Lokesh while art direction is by Siva Sankar. Stunts for the film have been choreographed by R.Sakthi Saravanan while dances have been choreographed by Sabarish.

The legendary actor and host spoke about how language and popular expressions continue to evolve across generations, joking about terms such as “rocking” and “killing it” by taking their literal meanings.

Sharing his confusion over the terminology used by younger generations, Bachchan said, “Aaj kal ki... Gen Z hai ya Gen A hai, pata nahi kya bolte hain... Sir, ajeeb-ajeeb bhasha banti rehti hai... 'You are rocking... Mr. Bachchan, you are rocking.' Maine kaha yaar, 'patthar toh humne abhi tak uthaya nahi.' Woh chhap gai... woh kaat karke bhejega, bolega, 'Sir, you are killing it.' Maut ki baat kaahe kar raha hai yaar humse?”

(These days Gen Z now use strange languages and expressions keep emerging. 'You are rocking... Mr Bachchan, you are rocking.' I said, 'Hey, I haven't even picked up a stone yet.' Then they will edit and send it, saying, 'Sir, you are killing it.' Why are you talking to us about death?)

Earlier too, Amitabh Bachchan had spoken about finding the Gen Z language and terminologies extremely difficult for him to decode.

The megastar had also recently discovered a new Gen Z term, "Biwi Paglu". Upon learning the meaning, Amitabh had quipped, "That's absolutely right. She is the boss, and every husband should accept it. Live like this and you will survive, otherwise, you will be fired."

The megastar, 83 years currently has been a part of the industry for over 50 years. Married to Bollywood then superstar Jaya Bachchan, is the father of actor Abhishek Bachchan. He is the grandfather of Aradhya Bachchan who is a Gen Z.

Drama Company, the production house behind the yet-to-betitled film, shared the update on Instagram, writing, “That’s a wrap. To the moments, the people and the magic we created together on the sets of Dr. Shivarajkumar X Abishan Jeevinth | Drama Company Production No. 1. The film was launched in June this year. The makers had recently introduced Abishan Jeevinth’s character, revealing that he plays Sugan in the film.

The film features Shivani Nagaram as the female lead opposite Abishan. The cast also includes Yogalakshmi, Gaana Vinoth, Sangeetha Madhavan and Benjamin and music by Leon James.

Anne will play a team owner and engineer in the sequel. The project will also feature Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper in key roles.

Jonathan Levine will direct the film, with the screenplay written by Will Staples. The sequel is expected to arrive in Summer 2028, although an exact release date has not yet been announced.

Tom announced the project through a video shared on his official Instagram account, in which he and Hathaway are seen laughing and looking into the camera as they reveal their upcoming collaboration.

Anne, who is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, said in the clip, “I’m going to have this baby, and then we’re going to make this movie.”

Directed by the late Tony Scott, the original Days of Thunder starred Cruise as Cole Trickle, a hot-headed driver who enters the NASCAR circuit and faces a series of personal and professional challenges before finding success.

Meanwhile, Cruise’s upcoming projects include Digger, in which he will star opposite Sandra Huller. Anne has Verity, Alone at Dawn and Princess Diaries 3 in her upcoming lineup.

According to reports, Murugadoss is said to be in discussions regarding a story developed by Shankar’s writing team. While the development has generated considerable curiosity, there is no official confirmation yet from either filmmaker or their respective teams.

The exact nature of the collaboration is also unclear at this stage. Reports have not established whether Shankar will have a direct creative role in the project or whether Murugadoss will take complete charge as director.

The possibility of the two filmmakers coming together has nevertheless sparked considerable interest, given their track record of delivering large-scale commercial films with strong action and social themes. Both directors have built distinct identities in Tamil cinema over the years, with Shankar known for ambitious, visually grand productions and socially driven themes, while Murugadoss has delivered several action-oriented commercial entertainers.

For now, the project remains at the discussion stage, and further details regarding the cast, production and the extent of Shankar’s involvement are awaited.

You've spent years being known primarily as a singer. Today, you're building a healthcare institution. How did this come about, and what has your journey been so far?

I was interested in Korean skincare about 10-11 years ago. Then, I saw that there was an opportunity to legally import it into the country. So, I went through the entire process. We started a website somewhere at the end of 2018, beginning of 2019. Then, we rebranded that into SkinRoot. We were the first in the country to actually legally import Korean skincare, and now we have also launched a huge 10-year-old Japanese brand here in India.

The logical extension to something like that was aesthetic services, and I wanted to bring the best practices from Korea but the best of technologies from the US and Europe and launch them. We did that in 2020-21. Samantha came and launched it then, and it was called DeepSkinDialogues. Slowly, as we understood the space a little more, my brother also joined the business, and he is a neurosurgeon. So, we have also branched into pain and regenerative medicine, where there are no steroids, no surgeries.

Do you think the discipline of being a performer prepared you for entrepreneurship in a way that you did not expect?

I think that is a very different space. The creative space allows for a certain kind of thinking on your feet. But that doesn't necessarily have applications in the medical or clinical space. It is very scientific and needs to function in a particular manner and "I always had the entrepreneurial bug".

You have said authenticity is important to you. How does that translate into the way you approach this business?

I know what I am. Is this something that I would do for myself? So, I put myself first, and to see K-Beauty also, everything is something that I tried myself, and I knew it worked and started vouching for them.

Registering with the Indian government is a very, very long and expensive process. So, for me to do that, I wanted to make sure that I could stand by what I am saying, and it is very difficult for me to be, I mean, it is impossible for me to be inauthentic about what I am saying and what I am doing. Therefore, I know that whatever I am doing, I have to walk the talk.

Your personal experience with spinal and cervical pain seems to have influenced your move towards regenerative medicine. Did being a patient change the way you think about healthcare?

My pregnancy was complicated, and then I had a spine procedure as well. I was looking for something for the spine, lower back; it is all connected. I think also the kind of lifestyles that we have generally had, mostly sedentary, but otherwise also not maintaining the right posture, abusing ourselves that way.

Now, I got it done with a practitioner that I trust. She came forward to collaborate with us, saying that, ‘I would like to work with you because we are not a corporate set-up where we are giving monthly targets. “I do not want to get people to sign up and do things that they do not need.”

You've spoken about ethics in aesthetics. What does ethical practice mean to you?

Especially in an aesthetic practice where it is very predatory by nature, to prey on your insecurities. I told our doctors, all our staff, that you do not have monthly targets to achieve.

I will pay your salary even if it is out of my pocket. Yes, my growth might be slow. I might not have these big numbers to show on the balance sheet to attract more investors who are still willing to burn money. I am not on that journey. I want to build something that lasts, build something with integrity.

You've spoken about women being conditioned to tolerate pain. Has your own experience changed the way you look at women's healthcare?

I have probably been somebody who's pushed myself to the brink where surgery was inevitable. I had to be carried away because I couldn't get up. I had given birth to twins. I was overworked. I was doing so much, and I had ignored it. My pain tolerance was so high that I ignored the pain in spite of the fact that I could not sit and get up normally. Standard mentality all women have.

If music is the part of your life that gave you a public identity, what does building iGenClinics give you personally that music doesn't?

I think there's one thing here. When we started it as an aesthetic practice, we wanted to keep this as a space which is safe for all genders. We have a huge population that are non-binary who are our clients, who are treated with, it's sad that I even have to say it, but treated like anybody else. We treat them the same way as others.

I find it pathetic, but I wanted to create a space that is safe for all genders, have ethics and integrity as a bedrock, and not chase targets. The person who walks through a door is not somebody who definitely has to build before they leave.

The film has triggered huge interest in audiences ever since the makers released a title teaser some months ago.

The teaser begins with women's groups staging a protest demanding that the songs of Texas Tiger (Hridhu Haroon) be removed from the Internet as they had objectionable content for lyrics.

Present at the same venue where the women are protesting is a group of young men calling themselves 'Tigerians'. They say they are fans of the musician and back him.

As a constable tries to clear the fans, Texas Tiger makes an entry, climbs atop the police van and voluntarily wears a garland of slippers that women activists were looking to make him wear in the hope that it will leave him ashamed. He, however, takes it in his stride much to the surprise of the women.

Sources close to the unit have told IANS that the film will be a fun, musical entertainer which was sure to appeal to all kinds of audiences.
