CHENNAI: Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday launched "Engirundum Ennerathilum" scheme for easy transfer of patta (land documents) online.

The new scheme by the Revenue Department will ensure that people need not visit the common service centres or the sub-registrar offices for transfer of land documents. People can visit https://tamilnilam.gov.in/citizen and can register for transfer of land documents.

People need not visit banks for payment as it can also be done online.

After the registration process is over and the land transfer would be completed the new land documents can be downloaded for free from the same website and by this way the middlemen can be eliminated.

The Chief Minister also launched the service of downloading urban land maps that were computerised between 2014 and 2017. The urban land maps can be downloaded from https://eservices.tn.gov.in for free. The mapping of blocks and individual towns was carried out through "Tamil Nilam" app and the maps will be useful for obtaining plot approval and bank loans.

Review meeting for breakfast scheme:

Later in the day, Chief Minister held a review meeting with officials about the free breakfast scheme for government primary school students.

During the meeting, he made a surprise call to one R Manimegalai, in-charge of the breakfast scheme in model primary school in Mannargudi in Thiruvarur district. "I am Stalin speaking. Is it Manimegalai?. Which school is under your in-charge?. How many students had breakfast today?. Did the breakfast arrive on time? Are there any problems in the middle? Have the students completed their breakfast? Do you have any complaints?" were the series of questions asked by him.

He then spoke with a school headmistress Sumathi and asked how the free breakfast scheme is being implemented in the school. When she replied that 36 students took their breakfast in the morning, Stalin asked whether the same number of students take breakfast daily and inquired about the quality of the food supplied.

Following the meeting, Amara, great granddaughter of Sir Pitti Thiagarayar, who implemented the free breakfast scheme for school students in Chennai way back in 1920s, met the Chief Minister and thanked him for the scheme.
