Kodanad case: Arukutty quizzed for 5 hrs

A special team of police quizzed ex-AIADMK MLA VC Arukutty in Coimbatore on Friday in connection with Kodanad murder cum break-in case.

COIMBATORE: He was summoned by police to PRS Grounds to probe his links with slain driver Kanagaraj, a prime accused who died mysteriously in an accident in Salem on April, 28, 2017 in Salem. Police said Arukutty availed the services of Kanagaraj, who worked as a driver for former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, after her demise. This is the second time Arukutty is being quizzed by the special police team in connection with the break in. He was summoned three years ago, while serving as a legislator. A police team led by Inspector General (IG) of Police – West Zone R Sudhakar and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police- Coimbatore Range MS Muthusamy questioned Arukutty for around five hours from 11 am. Speaking to reporters, Arukutty said that investigations into the Kodanad case are underway in a transparent manner. “I was questioned as Kanagaraj worked with me for one and a half years,” he said.
