He issued the suspension order after the principal failed to provide prompt answers to the Minister’s questions on government schemes.

It is said, Minister Vijaya Bhaskar along with Minister SP Velumani was at Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital to inaugurate Pneumococcal vaccination programme and a few other programmes, including the felicitation to the cardiology department which successfully performed as many as 2,750 angiograms in a short span of time.

After the inauguration, Vijaya Bhaskar went on interacting with the students of the government nursing school. At one point, the Minister asked the students to list out the schemes undertaken by the health department at the government hospitals. The students who were not aware of the schemes, reportedly maintained silence. Subsequently, he asked the students about scheme of Amma Baby Care Kit. Still the students were unaware of the scheme.

The irate Minister called the Nursing School Principal (in-charge) Dhanalakshmi and threw the same question. However, Dhanalakshmi too was unaware of the schemes. Subsequently, Vijaya Bhaskar ordered to serve 17A memo to the principal and left the place.
