SIR: Tiruchy flags 128 vulnerable stations

Manapparai and Tiruchy West follow closely with 18 vulnerable stations each, while Lalgudi has the least at six. Manachanallur and Thuraiyur have seven and nine, respectively.

TIRUCHY: Ahead of the Assembly polls, Tiruchy revenue district has identified 128 vulnerable polling stations out of a total 2,785, with Tiruverumbur segment accounting for the highest number at 25.

Manapparai and Tiruchy West follow closely with 18 vulnerable stations each, while Lalgudi has the least at six. Manachanallur and Thuraiyur have seven and nine, respectively.

District Election Officer and Collector V Saravanan disclosed this during a meeting with recognised political parties at the district collectorate. He said the identification was carried out by the revenue and police departments as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.

The polling stations are spread across 1,223 locations in the district, of which 81 vulnerable stations are in rural areas.
