TN police auctioned 1,351 vehicles, seized in connection with various crimes and smuggling offences, for Rs 2.60 crore and deposited the money in the treasury.

This included 1,222 two-wheelers and 104 four-wheelers. The maximum number of vehicles were auctioned in Karur district (207), followed by Madurai (203). In Tiruvallur, 172 vehicles were auctioned, while 135 vehicles were auctioned in Thanjavur district.
