CMC doctors were waiting for the CTRI nod following the DCGR okaying the study earlier. The next phase will include recruiting volunteers which is expected to take some time as the process involves the study staff directly interacting with them, he added. The study is looking at volunteers from both CMC and from the local community, he said and added that this would be a drawn out phase as the intricacies involved will have to be patiently explained to the volunteers before seeking their ‘informed consent.’ Dr Winsley said, “we have approached vaccine manufacturers directly for supplies and they have promised to provide it. ”
