Aruppukottai gangrape case: Two surrender before Virudhunagar court

Seven persons, including a juvenile aged 17 were behind the crime and five of them, including Seenivasan (42) of Kovilangulam, Jeyakumar (23) of Venkatachalapuram, Ramkumar (20), Alaguraj (19) and the juvenile have already been arrested in connection with the case filed by Aruppukottai Taluk police and were remanded in judicial custody since Wednesday, sources said.

MADURAI: Two accused, who remain absconding in the case concerning rape of a 40-year-old woman in Aruppukottai of Virudhunagar district, have surrendered before the Judicial Magistrate –II court in Virudhunagar on Thursday. They have been identified as Prabakaran (26) of Venkatachalapuram village, Peraiyur taluk, Madurai district and his brother Vijay alias Vijayan (22). Seven persons, including a juvenile aged 17 were behind the crime and five of them, including Seenivasan (42) of Kovilangulam, Jeyakumar (23) of Venkatachalapuram, Ramkumar (20), Alaguraj (19) and the juvenile have already been arrested in connection with the case filed by Aruppukottai Taluk police and were remanded in judicial custody since Wednesday, sources said.
