S Rajendran, AIADMK Parliament Member from Villuppuram was killed in a road accident at Tindivanam in this district of Tamilnadu early on Saturday.
According to sources, Rajendran took part in the party hosted by PMK founder leader Dr.Ramdoss along with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy and O Panneerselvam and others at the Thailavaram residence of Dr. Ramdoss last night.
Dr.Ramdoss hosted the party to celebrate the formation of an alliance between AIADMK and PMK besides BJP to contest the Lok Sabha elections.
After the party, Rajendran stayed at the Tindivanam guest house and left for Chennai in his car early this morning. When the car reached near Tindivanam police station, the visibility was poor due to fog and the car rammed into the road divider.
A seriously injured Rajendran was taken to the Tindivanam government hospital and he died on the way.The driver of the car Anbuselvam and Tamilselvan ,a relative of Rajendran who sustained injuries were being treated at the Tindivanam hospital.
The body of Rajendran will be taken to his native Aathanurpet ,near Villippuram later in the day.
