Young achiever award goes to Shrikrishna

Accolades aren’t new to Tamil Nadu’s billiards and snooker champion S Shrikrishna. The 17-year-old had a had a successful year and won the national billiards championship, in the U-18 category, for the third straight year apart from his exploits in the World’s Men Billiards, where he finished as a quarterfinalist.

He also won the Gold medal in the 2015 edition of the IBS F-World U-21 Billiards Award in Adelaide, Australia. 

Shrikrishna was awarded the Young Achiever Award by the Rotary Club of Madras East, in association with Murugavel Selvan Foundation, in recognition of his performance over the last one year and the young star was elated on receiving the award. 

Incidentally young TN tennis sensation Ramkumar Ramanthan won this award four years back. 

“This award gives me the motivation to do better and achieve greater heights in the sport,” he said after getting the award and added that his prime focus would be on getting fitter by the day in his pursuit of laurels.
