Hemalatha slams ton in Tamil Nadu win

A masterful 152 (139 balls, 19 fours and two sixes) by Tamil Nadu skipper D Hemalatha was instrumental in TN beating Hyderabad by 39 runs in the BCCI U-23 South Zone women one-day league at Kochi.

Riding on the captain’s excellence, Tamil Nadu coasted to 232 for the loss of eight wickets in their 50 overs. Hemalatha added 108 runs in 166 balls with S B Keerthana, who chipped in with a useful 30. In reply, Hyderabad could only manage 193 in 49.2 overs with Keerthana sizzling with the ball with three wickets for 30 runs.

BRIEF SCORES: Tamil Nadu 232/8 in 50 overs (Hemalatha 152, S B Keerthana 30, Rachna S Kumar 3/55) bt Hyderabad 193 in 49.2 overs (Himani Yadav 51, Ramya 27, S B Keerthana 3/30).
