Milind Deora replaces Nirupam as Mumbai Congress chief

In a surprise move prior to elections, Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam was suddenly removed and replaced with former Union minister Milind Deora, here on Monday evening.

The Congress on Monday appointed Milind Deora, former party MP, as the Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief.

According to party sources, Nirupam is expected to be nominated for the Mumbai North-West constituency.

Deora replaces Sanjay Nirupam, who has been fielded by the party from the Mumbai North West seat in the Lok Sabha elections.
