Inspectors in crime-hit North Chennai shifted

Stung by criticism of deteriorating law and order in the city, police on Monday put eight inspectors from North Chennai on vacancy reserve at Control Room

The spike in violent crimes in North Chennai and the increase in activities of contract killer gangs and rowdy elements in these areas have cost these men their postings in law and order, said police sources. Transfers and postings of as many as two Assistant Commissioners of Police and five Deputy Superintendents have been effected on Monday. 

Meanwhile, T Veerakumar, V Abraham Cruz Durairaj, C Rathinavel Pandian, all inspectors from the Central crime Branch have been moved to law and order.
