Heavy rainfall in Mumbai cancels flights from, to Chennai

According to airport officials, IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Chennai, scheduled at 5.35 pm, and the same flight, which was supposed to depart from Chennai to Mumbai at 6.20 pm, were cancelled due to bad weather

CHENNAI: Following heavy rainfall in Mumbai, two flights between Chennai and Mumbai were cancelled on Tuesday.

According to airport officials, IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Chennai, scheduled at 5.35 pm, and the same flight, which was supposed to depart from Chennai to Mumbai at 6.20 pm, were cancelled due to bad weather.

In addition, four flights were delayed, including the arrival of IndiGo flight at 5.10 am, and Air India flight at 8.55 am. The same flights that were supposed to depart from Chennai were also delayed.

Both IndiGo and Air India issued advance notifications to passengers and arranged alternate travel options.

Airport officials said that passengers were informed about delays and cancellations to minimise inconvenience.
