A motor cycle rider, identified as Mohammed Rafeek, came to a shop near Washermanpet. He brought mangoes and apples with a Rs 2000 note.

The note was too prim to be true; the fruit seller had a hunch. She prudently distracted him by conversing and simultaneously dialled the cops. Rafeek's accomplice was alerted and fleed.

But, Rafeek was caught, with more counterfeit notes in denominations of Rs 2000 and 500, upon investigation. The source for the notes and the network behind Rafeek is yet to be known.
