Cops on hunt for six youth who robbed veg vendor at knifepoint

A six-member gang robbed a vegetable vendor at knifepoint in the wee hours of Sunday.

A CCTV footage of the incident, which has been going viral, shows six youngsters, with faces covered with handkerchiefs, intercepting a man riding a tricycle near Muthusamy Bridge on two bikes. While one of them got down and intimidated the victim, others relieved him of valuables before fleeing the spot. When contacted, Flower Bazaar police said the victim was M Sankar (51) of Triplicane and the incident happened when he came to Parry’s Corner to buy vegetables for selling in his locality. Based on Sankar’s complaint, police registered a case and launched a hunt for the suspects.
