Australian minister praises state government’s TAEI

Health Minister of the Victorian Government, Australia, Jill Hennessy, recently applauded the Tamil Nadu government’s efforts in introducing the Tamil Nadu Accident and Emergency Initiative (TAEI) in the state, referring to it as one of the best schemes in the world.

To strengthen the centres in the state, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Dr C Vijaya Baskar, held discussions with the experts in Australia, where he, along with Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan, and other delegates are on an exposure visit for the effective implementation of TAEI across the state.

The hand transplant performed in the state’s Stanley medical College and Hospital, was also applauded. Minister Hennessy referred to it as the rarest surgery in the world and wanted to know more about the procedure.

The state’s breast milk banks were also a topic of discussion.
