AR Rahman, son ring in birthday together

Double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman and his son Ameen celebrated their birthday together at his residence on Friday amid family and close friends. Rahman turned 50 on January 6.

“Around midnight, his family made him cut a birthday cake. It’s also his son Ameen’s birthday which makes the day even more special for Rahman,” said a source close to the composer. Filmmaker Bharat Bala was one of the few guests to personally extend birthday wishes to Rahman. On the special occasion, Rahman’s sister Isshrath Quadhre dedicated her Mash Up cover version of Rahman’s songs to her brother. The video will be played on several television channels on January 6.
