With the Women’s Second Career programme, HCL hopes to offer women an opportunity to pick up their careers from where they left off, armed with technical and business skills to back on track and meet their professional aspirations.

A study by the World Bank in collaboration with the National Sample Survey Organisation, says 20 million Indian women quit jobs between 200412. Around 65-70% of women who quit never return to work at all.   At a time when both Governments and the corporate sector are creating programmes to give impetus to hiring of more women employees especially in STEM fields, one cannot ignore a large talent pool of qualified IT professionals.

Srimathi Shivashankar – EVP, HCL Technologies, says, “This is targeted at women who are serious about making a comeback and willing to invest in themselves.”
