Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, was in town to inaugurate the Silk Expo 2017. Looking stunning in a half-white silk saree, the actress floored the audience with her speech. Starting her address with ‘Namaskaaram’, her entire speech was in chaste Palakkad Tamil.

“It’s been a really long time since I paid a visit to Chennai. So, please excuse me as my Tamil has a mix of Malayalam because my family is from Palakkad,” said Vidya.

The actress, visibly excited to be in the city, also said, “Draping myself in a silk saree, wearing a ‘mallipoo’ on my head and talking in Tamil, everything feels so good.”

The actress visited the stalls and was quite evidently loving the sarees on display. She even obliged a few selfie requests from fans.
