Metro trans staff’s plea goes viral

Kerala government’s video that shows the transgender staff of Kochi Metro giving a message to their future passengers is going viral on social media.

The video, which was uploaded in one of the state government’s Facebook pages post the inauguration of the Kochi Metro, shows the employees appeal to the passengers to not give them pitiful looks and to treat them as ‘a person doing their job.’ 

The video has already received over a million views and over 24,000 shares. The Kochi Metro has already hired 23 transgender employees and is the first government-owned company in India to formally appoint transgenders.
