TN announces board exam schedule for classes 10 & 12; 11 supplementary
The results are expected to be announced on May 8 for Class 12, and on May 20 for Classes 11 and 10, according to the DGE

CHENNAI: The board exams for the current academic year (2025-26) in Tamil Nadu will be held from March 2 to 26 for class 12 and from March 3 to 27 for class 10. Results for classes 12 and 10 will tentatively be released on May 8 and May 20, respectively.
According to the exam schedule released by School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi on Tuesday, practical exams for class 12 are scheduled from February 9 to 14, and for class 10 from February 16 to 21.
In class 12, around 8.07 lakh students from 7,513 schools will appear for the exams across 3,317 centres, while in class 10, over 8.70 lakh students from 12,485 schools will write the exams at 4,113 centres.
Unlike previous years, class 10 exams, usually held in April, have been advanced due to the upcoming state elections.
Though class 11 board exams have been officially cancelled from this academic year under the State Education Policy (SEP), the School Education Department will conduct supplementary exams from March 11 to April 6 for students who had earlier written class 11 boards. Candidates who did not clear the class 11 exams between March 2018 and June 2026 can appear, the department said.
Supplementary practical exams for class 11 will be held from February 23 to 28, and results are expected on May 20.
For class 12, exams will begin with Tamil on March 2, followed by chemistry on March 9, physics on March 13, mathematics on March 17, biology on March 23, and biochemistry on March 26.
Class 10 exams start with Tamil on March 11, followed by English on March 16, mathematics on March 25, science on March 30, social science on April 2, and optional language on April 6. All exams will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
