The upcoming forest in the backyard of the iconic LIC building in Chennai is spread over 4500 sq. ft with about 950 trees and would be having more than 30 varieties of trees in its fold. “This is a humble contribution of LIC Southern Zone to the efforts taken worldwide in making our planet a green place for living,” said a release from the LIC.

G Venkataramanan, Zonal Manager inaugurated the project in the presence of Executive Director (Engineering Department) Arup Kundu, on September 26. The employees of LIC took a pledge to save the environment and promote green cover in their neighbourhood at the programme and actively participated in the plantation of saplings.
