L&T gets Rs 340 crore Metro phase ll contract in Chennai

The contract been awarded for standard gauge construction in Phase II Metro project at Rs 340.63 crore.

CHENNAI: The contract for the construction of track works of standard gauge in the elevated section between CMBT and Sholinganallur in Corridor 5 and Sholinganallur to Sipcot in Corridor 3 as part of phase II Metro rail construction has been awarded Larsen & Toubro Limited at a cost of Rs 340.63 crore.

As per Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) press note, the construction work involves supply of head hardened rails, turnouts, fastenings and installation of ballastless tracks in elevated sections, including 35 Metro stations, pocket tracks and stabling lines of CMRL phase II project.
