Buses, ambulance vans donated to Jipmer

Under the Corporate Social Responsibility mechanism the State Bank of India, Jipmer, on Tuesday donated two buses and six ambulance vans to Jipmer.

A Jipmer release  said B Ramesh Babu, Chief General Manager, SBI, Chennai Circle, formally donated the buses and ambulances  which cost around Rs. 88 Lakhs. Later, Jipmer Director Subash Chandra Parija  dedicated the ambulances for public use and said that daily 7000 outpatients were visiting the JIPMER hospital.

The new ambulances will play an important role in picking up of chronic case patients and accident victims. Further, the vehicles will be helpful for conducting camps in remote areas of Puducherry. In the previous years, the bank donated two battery-operated vehicles to minimise walking hardship of  patients.
