Union Government asks IndiGo to complete refund process for cancelled flights by Sunday evening

NEW DELHI: With IndiGo’s disruptions affecting thousands, the civil aviation ministry on Saturday ordered the airline to complete all ticket refunds for cancelled flights by 8 p.m. on Sunday and deliver any separated baggage within 48 hours. After more than 1,000 cancellations on Friday and over 400 on Saturday, the ministry warned that any delay or non-compliance would trigger regulatory action. Airlines have been told not to charge rescheduling fees, while IndiGo must set up dedicated support and refund facilitation cells to proactively assist passengers and ensure automatic refunds until operations stabilise.
