The coronavirus outbreak has so far claimed the lives of 106 in China. Cases of coronavirus had been confirmed in many countries across the world including Srilanka, Germany, US, Thailand, Malaysia, Canada and Australia.

The latest buzz is that the Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates had already warned the world of such deadly virus back in 2018. He had earlier stated that our world wasn't prepared to stand against pandemics, which should be everyone's concern. He had told this in an event hosted by Massachusetts Medical Society and the New England Journal of Medicine on April 27, 2018.

Bill Gates had warned us all in 2018 that the world should be prepared for pandemics like it is prepared for war. He revealed that countries don't have a coordinated approach to prevent or treat a pandemic like H1N1 influenza (swine flu). Bill made a witty comment by comparing the future deadly global pandemic with a new type of military weapon. This is shockingly relevant to the current happenings around the world related to the coronavirus outbreak.

The world indeed lacks a coordinated approach to detect, prevent and treat the disease caused by the deadly virus.

Bill Gates also mentioned the lack of a sense of urgency related to biological threats. He warned of a life-threatening probability that a deadly pandemic will occur in our lifetime. Gates suggested the world leaders to be prepared for any biological threats in the future by investing money in antiviral drugs and therapies.

According to the recent update, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has announced a donation of $10 million to help China and Africa increase their efforts to curb down the spread of coronavirus.
