Mexico nationals to sue Walmart over El Paso mass shooting
The ministry said that, through this lawsuit, the plaintiffs not only seek justice for themselves, but also security for the public in general.
Ten Mexicans are suing US chain store Walmart for failing to protect its customers in an August mass shooting that left 22 people dead in El Paso, Texas, the Mexican Foreign Ministry has said.
"The objective ... is to hold the company accountable for not taking reasonable and necessary measures to protect its customers from the attack at its Cielo Vista branch in El Paso," the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
"Through this lawsuit, the plaintiffs not only seek justice for themselves, but also security for the public in general," said the ministry.
The law office Lynn Coyle, in coordination with Mexico's consulate in El Paso, filed the suit in the United States, said the ministry.
