At least three people were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off outside the Pakistan Consulate General in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, Foreign Office spokesperson Mohammad Faisal said.
In a post on Twitter, the Faisal said that all Pakistani staff were safe, however, added that "one policeman and two applicants are reportedly wounded" in the explosion on Sunday, Dawn news reported "We are in contact with Afghan authorities to ensure strengthened security for Consulate General's premises and personnel," he added.
The Consulate had been shut down in August 2018, before resuming operations two months later.
Pakistan had cited "undue interference" by the Governor of Nangarhar province in its working and other security concerns as the reasons for the Consulate's closure.
