Brexit minister Dominic Raab quits
Britain’s Brexit minister Dominic Raab resigned on Thursday in protest at Prime Minister Theresa May’s deal for leaving the European Union.
London
“I regret to say that, following the Cabinet meeting yesterday on the Brexit deal, I must resign,” he said in a statement on Twitter.
"I cannot reconcile the terms of the proposed deal withthe promises we made to the country in our manifesto," he said in hisresignation letter.
Raab said May’s plan threatened the integrity of the United Kingdom.
Prime Minister Theresa May announced on Wednesday evening that she had won the backing of her senior ministers for a draft European Union divorce deal, freeing her to tackle the much more perilous struggle of getting parliament to approve the agreement.
Meanwhile, European Council President Donald Tusk has said that he would hold a summit to sign Brexit deal on November 25.
