Quake hits Italian island, buildings collapse
An earthquake measuring 3.6 magnitude hit the island of Ischia, off the coast of Naples, on Monday night, officials said, causing several buildings to collapse.

Residents and tourists on the island ran out on to the streets. Television images showed that about six buildings in the town of Casamicciola as well as a church had collapsed.
The television reports said the buildings appeared to have been inhabited and a number of people were missing.
There were reports of a number of people injured in the quake, which took place at the height of the summer tourist season. The island's hospital was evacuated.
