Google’s always known to encourage young talent, but even they couldn’t have expected a 7-year-old to apply for a job.
Chennai
Unfazed by the child’s lack of experience, Google CEO Sundar Pichai personally replied to the little girl, telling her that he ‘looks forward to receiving her job application after she finishes school.
The proactive young applicant was 7-year-old UK resident, Chloe Bridgewater who sent in a hand-written job application letter to Google.
Addressed to ‘dear Google boss’ Chloe admitted that she is also considering working in a chocolate factory, but once she learned that the Google office had bean bags, go karts and slides, she would like to work there. She also assured that she was good in studies, spelling and sums.
Chloe, who had recently suffered a car accident was in for a happy surprise when she got a reply from Sundar Pichai himself.

In his letter to her, the technocrat said, “I’m glad that you like robots and computers, and hope that you will continue to learn about technology. I think that if you keep working hard and following your dreams, you can accomplish everything that you set your mind to - from working at Google to swimming in the Olympics. I look forward to receiving your job application when you are finished with school. All the best to you and your family.”
Sharing the letter on LinkedIn, Chloe’s proud dad Andy Bridgewater said his daughter expressed an interest in Google after seeing images of Google offices with their bean bags, go karts. In his note, he said, “Chloe lost a great deal of confidence after being knocked down by a car a couple of years ago. However, to say she is delighted after receiving this letter signed by Sundar Pichai himself is an understatement.”
She is now even more eager to do well at school and work for Google. Can’t thank such a busy person enough to take time out to make a little girl’s dream become one step closer!”
The note got over 1,50,000 likes, and thousands of appreciative comments for the down-to-earth Chennai-born CEO who took the time and effort write back to a little girl.
