Deepavali gifting gets healthier this year

“This Deepavali, we have specially curated healthy alternatives to satisfy your sweet cravings. We are having five gift boxes this year. The two Nutcracker Boxes are an assortment of coco peanut butter energy bites, coconut sesame energy bites and date almond energy bites. Our Cracker Box has 2 jars energy bites (peanut butter and date almond), 2 jars granola (chocolate and savoury), 2 jars fox nuts (caramel and herb and cheese) and a uniquely crafted coconut candle. The other two boxes are Light Box and Firecracker Box. All our products are natural, preservative-free, made with high quality produce, wholesome, nutritious and healthy and 100 per cent vegetarian. All our products are made in hygienic and sanitised conditions,” says Anisha, co-founder of Fruit Print.

Archana Stalin, who picked up organic farming a few years ago, has now come up with sweet gift boxes. She has made it possible by collaborating with other rural farmers in the state. “All these are traditional snacks, but what makes them different is the ingredients used in it. All sweets are made by rural women using organic ingredients, healthy millets, jaggery, A2 ghee and chekku oil. We have carefully curated two palagaram combos and a palagaram gift box for children,” says Archana. The palagaram combos are a mix of different snacks like thinnai laddu, thooyamalli murukku, kaatu yanam aval navathaaniyam mixture, cholam thattai, millet omapodi, panangarkandu mysurpa and more. The team will be home delivering all orders on Friday in the city.

MotherWay Karuppati Kadalai Mittai that makes sweet balls with palm jaggery is ready with their Deepavali sweets. Their box includes groundnut sweet balls, black sesame sweet balls, black sesame mixed soft balls, white sesame balls, white sesame mixed soft balls and flax seed sweet ball. “Groundnut and palm jaggery are a great combo — they are crispy, crunchy and tasty. This age-old delicacy is rich in vitamins and proteins. Palm jaggery is the perfect healthcare sweetener, especially for pregnant women and children. Ideally, women should consume this combo daily,” says Stalin B. Sesame has been a popular part of our diet because of its high protein content. “With palm jaggery added to it, you get a deliciously crunchy and healthy sweet. Apart from containing calcium and magnesium, sesame is also rich in vitamin B, iron and zinc, which boost your immunity and help balance your body weight,” he adds.
