    Fitness Mantra: Dancing to your favourite beats may reverse ageing

    Want to stay young for long? A daily bout of physical exercise, especially dancing, can help reverse the signs of aging, according to a study. The new study demonstrated that dancing has the most profound anti-aging effect on the brain in the elderly. Challenge yourself with some of these interesting and fun dance workouts during the rains.

    Belly Dancing: Quite the rage thanks to Shakira and our very own Sheila aka Katrina Kaif, belly dancing is all the rage with dance enthusiasts and it also makes for a great core workout. Focusing mainly on footwork and moving the waist, belly dancing also helps pregnant women birth babies more easily with the movements.

    Zumba: Zumba is one of the most popular workout dances from in the country and is readily available across all big cities in the country. It uses Latin-American music and the lively music and energetic vibe make you feel like you’re at a beach party rather than working out. 

    Pole Dancing: Though relatively new in India, it is gaining traction with celebrities like Jacqueline Fernandez endorsing it. Pole dancing is not an 

    easy dance, but it certainly is fun. It would prove a fresh and interesting challenge for those with already good core strength. Pole dancing helps with developing muscles, balance and flexibility. However, give this a miss if you have joint pain, back problems or poor fitness.

    Jazz Dancing: The leaps, kicks and jumps in jazz dancing are perfect for developing those instagram worthy killer legs and toned thighs. Much like ballet, jazz is all about flexibility, balance and great posture and also involves a lot of hand movements, leading to a good arm workout as well.

    Bollywood Dancing: This is probably something you have already discovered while shaking a leg at the club or even at the umpteen number of rehearsals you pulled with friends for school and dance. With moves ranging from Bhangra to Reggae to traditional dance forms, Bollywood works every muscle in your body while you enjoy your latest favourite that you are listening to on a loop. 

    Hip Hop: This is one of those dance forms that all dance lovers hope to pull off every time they watch an English movie. It is a strenuous work out that is tough to learn, but once mastered, it gives you the added advantage of being the star on the dance floor.
