Chennai
While no data has ever been collected to figure out how many people are suffering from urinary incontinence in India, urologists of the city on World Continence Week (June 20 – 26) say that its very common and one of the most under diagnosed disorder affecting all age groups. It is a medical problem when the bladder works overtime, contracting more often than it should and at inappropriate times. This involuntary contraction creates the urgent need to urinate. Dr. Shyamala Gopi, a consultant urologist says, “Observational studies suggest, people hesitate to visit their doctor with this problem due to embarrassment.”
