Jyoti Amge (25), who is from India and stands at a wee 2ft 1 inches tall, holds the Guinness World Record for the shortest living woman who is mobile. She met Turkey’s Sultan Kosen, who, at 8ft 3 inches, is the world’s tallest man.
Jyoti has a condition called achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism and has starred in shows like American Horror Story: Freak Show, documentary films and Hindi film, Pan Supari.
Kosen is from Ankara, Turkey and his height is caused by a condition known as pituitary gigantism, where the brain produces abnormally large amounts of growth hormone from the pituitary gland. Kosen was the first man over eight feet to be measured by Guinness World Records in more than 20 years. He first became the world’s tallest living man in 2009, when he was 2.47m tall. He has since grown taller. Sultan has four siblings and the rest of his family are of average heights. He was married in 2013. Kosen met Jyoti for a photo shoot in front of the Giza pyramids on Friday. They were visiting the country to promote tourism in Egypt.
