Claim of bank account blockage over NPR proven false

An image of an uncertified document urging the public to withdraw money from their bank accounts before March 31 is being shared online. If an account holder fails to submit the National Population Register (NPR) document by then, their account will get blocked, it claimed. Alt News, however, investigated to find there to be no material on the RBI website that backs the claim. Although the site recorded an NPR letter as an Officially Valid Document, RBI also dismissed the viral message and clarified it to have no basis.
