Was a BJP supporter beaten up by a crowd of West Bengal CM Mamata Banaerjee’s supporters?

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has opposed Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) vehemently. 

Following this, a video showing a crowd thrashing a BJP supporter is going viral on social media. It is claimed that the BJP supporter encouraged the CAA which led to the thrashing, allegedly by the West Bengal Chief Minister’s supporters. 

On analysing the video, it was found that the video in actuality shows a clash between two BJP groups.  The incident took place in Barasat, West Bengal, last year on December 5th. The person being beaten up in the video is a former Zone leader.
