New York City police have said that 76 immigration policy protesters had been arrested at a demonstration outside Microsoft's flagship store in midtown Manhattan.

In videos posted on Twitter, protesters could be seen holding signs that read: "This is the price for business with ICE".

The protest was organised by an activist group called Close the Camps NYC, Fox News reported on Saturday.

Microsoft and other tech giants have been facing the ire for making millions of dollars doing business with the law enforcement agency responsible for family separation of alrge number of immigrants.

According to some reports, few of the protesters in the group allegedly went inside the Microsoft store and sat on the floor, dropping red-inked dollar bills in the store, meant to look like bloodstains.

Earlier in August, as many as 100 protesters were arrested when they shut down part of a major highway in New York City for an hour and were charged with disorderly conduct before being released.
