Devices to win over the selfie lovers, music aficionados
Motorola has just unveiled its latest One Vision device, we were mighty impressed with two of its headline features. Motorola’s India portfolio now includes the Moto e, g and the One series.
Chennai
The One sits at the top of the heap and delivers key innovations at a compelling price point. The name of the device is a giveaway. Motorola calls it a Cinema Vision display, a gorgeous 6.3-inch Full HD+ screen (1080 x 2520 pixels) with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Moto is betting big on this display given that most streaming services are moving to this screen format. The One Vision opts for a punch-hole display that conceals the selfie camera.
The device packs two quad pixel cams, a big deal for this price band. There’s a 48MP primary lens with a f/1.7 aperture that combines with a 5MP secondary lens to complete the rear cam set up. The other quad pixel cam is the 25MP front-facing cam which shoots great selfies. The highlight of the rear cam is the night vision mode; it’s one of the best at this price point in lowlight. There’s no wide-angle option though. Aside from the immersive screen and lowlight photography, the One Vision’s presence on the Android One platform also gives it an edge among its rivals. This delivers a pure-play Android experience and puts the device in the fast lane for software updates and security patches.
An octa-core, Samsung Exynos 9609 processor is at the heart of this device. There’s only one hardware option — 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal memory, with support for Micro SD cards up to 512GB. There’s a 3,500 mAh battery under the hood with 15W TurboPower fast charging support. The Motorola One Vision delivers on many key fronts and adds more zing to the fiercely competitive Rs 15,000 – Rs 20,000 price band (Rs 19,999)
Vivo Y12:
A selfie cam with an AI face beauty feature is one of the talking points of Vivo’s new sub Rs 15,000 smartphone. This 8MP selfie shooter boasts of tailor-mode facial enhancements that can liven those selfies. The triple rear cam also includes a wide-angle lens. The Y12 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor that teams up with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Heavy duty users will dig the ultra-game mode and the 5000 mAh battery that keeps it chugging along. (Rs 12,999)
Blaupunkt SBWL-01 sound bar:
German audio major Blaupunkt adds a powerful entertainment accessory to its India portfolio. The trendy honeycomb design of this sound bar stands out while the piano black front will seamlessly blend into your living room. The wireless sub-woofer does not require any physical cables to hook up with the sound bar. The device offers a variety of connectivity options including HDMI-ARC for a superior digital experience. The 200W Sound bar with Dolby Digital features 4 preset equaliser modes to match your mood. (Rs 13,990)
