The form factor might look familiar but the real changes are under the hood. Apple also adds the Smart Connector — a feature that was reserved for its formidable iPad Pro line, to this new tablet. This allows you to connect Apple’s ultra-light Smart Keyboard or other keyboards (from brands like Logitech) that make it a serious productivity accessory (this column was typed on the Smart Keyboard in quick time). You can also use the first generation Apple Pencil with this device.

At about 460 gms, the Air 3 is remarkably light for a device that sports a 10.5-inch display (1668 x 2224 pixels / 4:3 ratio /265 PPI density). There are thick bezels on the top and bottom and yet the Air 3 manages a 78.2% screen: body ratio. The new Air is powered by the A12 Bionic processor, the same chip in the new iPhone XS and XS Max and is geared for multi-tasking or heavy duty gaming. We clocked about 10 hours of battery life with a mix of videos, browsing and MS Office applications. The iPad Air (2019) is the ideal tab for most users who need a device for Content Consumption and work on the go. It’s not as expensive and feature-packed as the new iPad Pro, but packs enough utility to justify its price tag. (From Rs 44,900 onwards)

    OPPO Reno 10X Zoom:

OPPO’s new flagship isn’t just packed with a formidable hardware spec sheet, it’s among the best looking devices under Rs 40,000. The glass back is replete with an iridescent glow that adapts to different lighting conditions. We reviewed the ocean green colour option where this interplay creates interesting patterns. At 215 gms, it’s a heavy device partly because of a heavy duty 4065 mAh battery. The Reno 10X Zoom aces battery life; we managed well over 24 hours withheavy usage.

True to its name, this OPPO device offers 10X zoom capabilities. The rear cam combines three lenses including a 48MP primary lens, a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens. The 10X zoom works well in ambient light, portrait images are quite pleasing too. We also like how the rear camera blends in seamlessly without a camera bump. And then there’s OPPO’s latest trick —what it calls the shark fin rising selfie camera, a cool swivel front cam (16MP) that pops up when you snap selfies and stretches the screen: body ratio to over 93 per cent. The 6.6-inch display is vibrant while the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Processor keeps this device chugging along. There’s a choice of 6GB/128GB or 8GB/256GB hardware options. The 10X Zoom is let down slightly by OPPO’s proprietary Color OS (6.0) that is cluttered. The OPPO Reno 10X Zoom has a lot going for it — elegant design, a solid hardware spec sheet and a dependable battery. (From Rs 39,990 onwards)
