The world’s fastest charging phone and a tab for super tasking
If you’re the type who frequently forgets to charge your phone, OPPO’s new smartphone might just have the solution you need. The OPPO R17 Pro is the world’s fastest charging phone.
Chennai
OPPO’s SuperVOOC solution guarantees a 40% battery level in 10 minutes and a full charge in 35 minutes flat. Impressive, given this is a 3700 mAh battery and one that lasts comfortably through a whole day with multi-media usage and a decent amount of screen time.
The R17 Pro is thoughtfully designed. The gradient colour patterns on the chassis, certainly make heads turn but it’s not for those who prefer subtlety. The bezels continue to shrink, the R17 Pro pushes the screen: body ratio beyond 90% with its 6.4-inch display.
The tiny, teardrop style notch is easy to ignore. It’s similar to the one we spotted on the OnePlus 6T. It’s one of the many similarities between these two phones including an ‘in-display’ fingerprint sensor. There are significant differences too. The R17 Pro doesn’t pack the firepower of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood of the OnePlus 6T, opting instead for the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 processor with a generous 8GB of RAM.
Lowlight photography is a key strength too. OPPO takes a cue from Samsung’s flagship phones with a variable aperture that it calls Smart Aperture. It flits between a f/1.5 and f/2.4 aperture to automatically allow more light and enhance images snapped in lowlight. Aside from the 25MP AI Beauty Selfie cam, the triple rear cam also features a unique TOF 3D Stereo camera that opens up a whole array of 3D photography options. Just one more reason why OPPO might be onto a good thing with the R17 Pro. (Costs Rs 45,990)
Productivity meets fun:
Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab S4 swings effortlessly from work to play mode. You can take advantage of Samsung DeX – available for the first time on a tablet, to connect to a larger screen via an HDMI adapter. Add an optional keyboard and external mouse and it’s ready to get some serious work done. The multi-functional S-Pen adds to the Tab S4’s productivity credentials. It also has a clever Translate function with a single swipe. There’s enough room to store all your work and all those shows you binge watch on the go – 64GB of Internal Memory and support for Micro SD cards up to 400GB.
A vibrant 10.5-inch display (2560 x 1600 pixels) with an immersive 16:10 aspect ratio makes it perfect as an entertainment hub. It’s all the screen you need to catch movies or indulge in intense gaming. The device packs quad speakers tuned by AKG and enhanced by Dolby Atmos. This is backed by a robust 7300 mAh battery that guarantees 16 hours of video playback. The Tab S4 makes a strong case for a tab at a time when we’ve ditched our tabs for large screen smartphones. (Rs 57,990)
