Summit on cyber safety touches upon AI

The high level summit gathers the presence of multi-stakeholders from MNC’s, PSU’s, PSB’s, Corporates, Academics, State and Central Governments, Defence, Intelligence Agencies, Enforcement Agencies, etc. AS Kiran Kumar, Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space, Government of India was the Chief Guest of the Day 1 summit. The summit explored the boundaries of cyber security when it comes to the national security and also provided a view of the best practices to protect Central/State Critical Infrastructure where the sensitivity of the data plays a very vital role. 

Speaking at the summit, Dr S Amar Prasad Reddy, Additional Director – General, National Cyber Safety and Security Standards, said, “Nowadays, with the rising popularity of cyber connectivity and worldwide interlinking, an evil has evolved in the form of breach of cyber security. The country is in need of more cyber security experts to secure the data which is vital for the overall development of the Nation.” Experts at the summit opined that cyber threats in today’s world are becoming more complex and dangerous, as cyber criminals are turning increasingly sophisticated and developing and implementing new attack methods, making it hard to keep up, let alone simulate. The panel discussions in the summit addressed the prevailing security concerns in the digital world and invited suggestions to tackle them effectively. At the summit, scientists from the National Cyber Defence Research Centre also discussed about the applications of Artificial Intelligence in Cyber Security and also the first human brain-controlled electronic devices in India.
