Celebrating the holiday season

A mix of cut outs, the doodle captures the cheerfulness synonymous with holidays with bright colours. Images of cats and owls in the shape of Google sit between the paper cuts to complete the holiday mood. Clicking on the colourful words takes the reader to a search page by the same caption. With December 23 ushering in the Holiday season, the event is complete with Christmas and New Year that invariably fall on the same day every year.  Google has been paying a doodle ode to the holiday season every year with an interesting theme that strikes a chord with audiences across the world.

‘Tis The Season’ is a famous Christmas album by American singer Vince Gill and Australian singer Olivia Newton-John. The lines are from the 1862 carol ‘Deck the Halls’. The melody of the carol is Welsh dating back to the sixteenth century. Tis the Season is also a 2007 children’s novel from the Main Street series of Ann M. Martin.
